hey guys i using freestyler trying to control 3 martin roboscan 518 pro and i have them set to the right channel and the pan and left and right all work but when i open the shutter i lose control of the lights is there somthing simple i am missing really need your guys help im new to this and i have to have it working for a show next week

I dont know the robo scan but if it has several DMX modes, you have to be sure that you use the right fixture file for the right DMX mode. try to open the fixture file in fixture creator and compare the DMX addresses with the DMX in the robo scan manual.

i have checked that it has the same as the manual and it seams to all be the same and if i only use one it works fine but when i try to use all 3 when i open the shutter i lost all control

Title fix. "need help please please" does'nt really tell whats the problem, next to that, everyone here needs help. So there's no point shouting it out.

You need to check your DMX adressing as well.
On what adresses did you configure your fixtures (and how did you do that - check it)?
Check if you entered the correct adresses in FreeStyler.

It could be the Martin 518 Pro is a Martin protocol fixture and not a DMX compatible fixture. (some old Martin fixtures have this 'problem')
You should check that too.

when programing them it come up with what dipper switch to have up and down i set them and it seams that i have control i have checked that they are right and comptable and i know the dmx cable in to the martins needs the polarity to change between 1 and 3 and i have that cable plugged in it come on the the 3d viuer that it is working but the lamp doesnt come on when i have all 3 on

pin 1 and 3 swapped for inverted polarity? Thats strange.
I'd say (just a blunt guess) that 2 and 3 needs to be changed for inverted polarity.
Questions/suggestions:
1. What DMX addresses did you assign?
2. If you connect the 3 fixtures seperately, one by one, as the only fixture in the DMX chain, do they all work perfectly then?
3. Don't just copy the dip-image from FreeStyler. Many fixtures have their own configuration. Have a look in the manual and make the dip switch setting from that, matching the DMX address you configured.
4. Make sure the DMX addresses and ranges don't overlap.

Yes the 518 has 3 modes, and Martin have swicht + and- in the connector(why?!?). But I think you "reset" the fixture when open shutter!! check value on ch1! use dimmer slider instead of faders to the right. Good luck!
