could you make an edit of your post and mark which movies/light shows are executed via FS? and better yest mark all video with which consoles/software you used. then we can compare FS with other cosoles/softwares

i can tell you the differce about FS and a pearl 2010 expert iff you want.

in 1 word, Less=More
with a pearl you program LESS and you can do MORE.

iff you want a explanation just ask.

Well, I think you can do a lot with FreeStyler. It is a great software with sometimes more than one way to create a light show. You can start with a simple Cuelist for small shows. You can Use Submasters or Cuelist buttons for advanced controll and bigger shows. You have the ability to controll everything by mouse and keyboard, by MIDI or by touch screen (with a self created interface) - or even a combination of it. This gives you the freedomness to do everythink the way you like most.
I do not know the "classic" way whith big light boards like the pearl 2010 to controll the lights. But I think it is a personal preference wich way you go. For me FreeStyler does the job very well.
Perhaps it is more work to get everything working with FreeStyler as you want, but it is work you do once - and then reuse everything (if you do it right ).
I would like to here some more of the differences about controlling the lights whith a perl instad of FreeStyler to get a better image of the different ways.

i'm working with a pearl 2008 bewteen 1 and 4 time per month and have tried 2010 expert. I will post the difference between pearl and FS later... i'am at work right now... maybe we should make another topic for this

don't get me wrong Freestyler is realy a nice piece of software better than any other free dmx software.

I have used everything and so far everthing works great how it is.
I also useing the touchscreen but doesnt work that great i see alot.of inprovment in it, mouse work perfect but i dont like to use the mouse . Still waiting for my bcf2000 hopfully this will work better.
And i dont ask to have all the thing a pearl have, a couple of things would be great for better live controlling.
So far freeyler works it work great.
And i like to play with the light in stad of making all kinds of preprogrammed shows.
