what do you have on the subs and buttons?

i have mine setup like this (use freestyler mainly for moving heads) - would be good to see what other people use or if you have and suggestions/comments on my setup.

subs:
page 1 = mac profile shutter, mac profile movement, mac wash shutter, mac wash movement
page 2 = mac profile colour, mac profile gobo, mac profile gobo rotate, mac wash colour

and buttons as 'flash' buttons

keys:
1to5 = toggle sub
qa/ws/ed/rf/tg = sub go back for number key above
zxcvbnm,./ = buttons 1 to 10
space = blackout
` = smoke

what is the effect of that codes on you.

I think you should also add what will happen to those codes

that you post.

In the first post I think the 'code' he refers to to is this.....
1to5 = toggle sub
qa/ws/ed/rf/tg = sub go back for number key above
zxcvbnm,./ = buttons 1 to 10
space = blackout

@ Constantinne -
Its not code my friend! It refers to the assigned keys on the pc keyboard to do certain jobs.
Example - letters q and a on the keyboard have been assigned to navigate up and down the 1st submaster.
z = overide button 1. x = overide button 2 and so on.
Is that a bit clearer for you ?

@ Monkey -
I think you are setting up your control quite nicley and in the past I have set mine up in pretty much the same way as this. Nowadays I have some overide buttons setup on keys and everything else is on a BCF2000. If you have the money (£180 or less on fleabay?) they are well worth the investment.

Did you read the submaster tutorial? If so what did you think of it?

Ahh rite,
wiki tutorial? yeh thats what i read through when i first started using FS. Helped alot - only problem i had with it is that magic 3d doesnt automatically put the fixtures in for you and i couldnt work out how to get it to work with FS.
I have been eyeing up a BCF for a while now actually. can you use keys & a midi controller?

I came across a problem at a festival over the weekend tho. If i had submasters running or if i had had them running and stopped them - i couldnt then 'live' edit the lights e.g. change colour by clicking on them or change focus etc. unless it was already in a cue/sub. is this how FS is suppost to be or is mine playingup? i have never had to do it before so hadnt notice but this time i wanted to change the focus and iris but couldnt.

yes. it it two different things and two different configurations so you can still use keys when you use a MIDI controller

I think the issue you had is similar to a newly reported issue. Can you confirm it is the same behaviour you had in the weekend?

not quite. say im running my macs off subs -
e.g.
sub1 has the shutter open
sub2 has them moving around
sub3 has colours

i want to change the colour of my heads to something that isnt programmed. if i highlight the lights then open the colour window and change the colour it doesnt change the lights. so its as if its doing it in offline mode?

I Can't repdoduce the issue

* Do you have the "create sequence" window open. if yes, then you are in offline mode.. dont have this winow open when you are running sequences from cue window or submasters

* Do you get the blue warning signs when changing the colours manually?

create sequence not open. and i think warning signs were there but cant remember exactly off top of my head - remember having to click to release at some point.
