I can't control my PAR56

Hello everybody

I installed the latest version of freestyler successfully, bought a dmx4all USB-interface, but now I would like to control my LED "ADJ" PAR56 RGB (6 DMX Channels) and it doesn't work....

I havent got any experiences with freestyler, but could it be that difficult with LED PARs???

The dmx4all interface is ready, and i selected the LED Pars in the fixture-mode.
After that I "selected all" so that all the PARs are marked in light blue... but they don't react, when I do anything with the macros....

Has anyone got an idea?!

Thanks for your answers.....

Regards

Basic stuff to check first:

Did you select the output interface (dmx4all) in freestyler setup?
Did you address the PARS correctly? What did you address them?
Did you set the same address of the PARS in FreeStyler?
Did'nt forget to set intensity to 100%?
What do you see in the output window in FreeStyler when changing sliders, intensity or colors, or any parameter?

thank u for your answer!

yes i selected the interface dmx4all. sometimes this message is displayed: "error occured creating output thread" but when i try again some seconds later the error isnt displayed any more...

i adressed the PARs like its told in the fixture mode.

i dont really know the manufacturer of the PARs, but "ADJ" is the only manufacturer of LED pars with 6dmx channels in the program, but i dont think that this is a problem isnt it?

In the output window are 6buttons shown, like the 3colors, macro, shutter and dimmer...but if i click on a button and try to change the color, nothing happens at the PAR.....
intensity is set on 100% at the led par

and i also set the right com port in freestyler

anything else u want to know?

this means Freestyler cant communicate with your Interface, the meaasge is only showed once, so it dosent mean Freestyler found the interface the second time you tried. Most likely you did not choose the right comport. again this link might be helpfull: http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/faq#interfaces

if you are sure about this you may have another program running which use the comport.

Make sure you use the right fixture file! If you can not finde one in the list you have to create your owne. The channel Order could change. For example there is one LED par with channel 1: Red, channel 2: Green and channel 3: Blue and an other one with hannel 1: Blue, channel 2: Green and channel 3: Red. They have both three channels, but when you have the second one and turn Red on, the fixture will light up Blue...
In Case if the total channel number (in your case 6) is the same your Par should at least do ANYTHING. Perhaps not the expected, but anything. You can validate that you used the right fixture file when everything works as expected.
But this seams not to be the problem at the moment. Just a notice for further work.

In the Output window there are no buttons. It is just a matrix showing the current output values. You can not change them by clicking. You can click a channel but then the fixture using this channel will be selected and you have to change the DMX-values by manipulating the sliders or using the macro-/color-/gobo buttons and so on.

You can check wich COM-Port is used by runing the DMX-Configurator tool wich was delivered with the Interface. There is a configuration "AutoDetect".

i got another program, the dmx configurator, and with this program it works without any problems on COM-port 5. but in FS the interface doesnt work with this COM-port....

of course i quited the configurator before starting FS, so that the COM-port is not used....

any ideas? =/

I thought I saw 2 dmx4all interfaces in the FreeStyler list. did you test them both?

maybe a stupid question: have you tried to:

1) restart the computer with the interface unplugged
2) When computer is up running, plug in the interface
3) start freestyler and choose the interface and comport (dont open the other dmx program to avoid it occupies the comport, even when it is closed)
