I can set you up a shoutcast Online radio server for just £20 GBP a year! All you need then is the Free Winamp MediaPlayer and the Shoutcast Plugin and your good to go! plug in your equipment/mixers into your line in on your pc and then in a flash your radio station is online!

How many users can you handle at what bitrate(s)?

Second question: I'm looking for a cheap video relay (windows media or something like that) to distribute webcam + audio.
Is there a data limit? (as we might tend to go over 100 GB/Month with this).

not too sure about the video bit but the radio it should handle a good number of users but its untested its a Virtual private server in the netherlands in a large data centre I have run it at 128kbps MP3 Stereo and it works fine but thats with no users,
Its currently hosting my Gaming server but i have plans to close that down...

In that case: did you sort out how many traffic (in means of GB/month) you may generate within the package you pay for?
Audio streaming is something different than hosting a game server, looking at data throughputs.

Just telling this so you arent surprised when the company you rent from sends you a large bill because of too much traffic. My point is: hosting something is almost for free, but traffic is expensive.

Imagine someone does stream with you server. And just calculate for 10 users connected 24/7 @ 128kbps.
13,2 GB/day. = 408 GB/Month, thats a lot and many locations have way lower traffic thresholds. So they are going to sent you a very big bill.
And thats just for 10 users listening to a simple 128 kbps stream. Imagine having 50 listeners, having 256 kbps or higher streams, video streams at more than 500 kbps.

Anyway, you'll know what I mean. And assume you already did. I'm just making sure. :-)

there is a lot of companies offering unlimited bandwidth, but will apply a FUP.
There's really no such thing as unlimited disk space, and unlimited bandwidth. If you cost the company 150/mo in bandwidth, and they are only getting 15/mo from you, you wont be there very long. Best suggestion is finding a provider that has packages that will fit your requirements.

just under 1000 24/hrs at 128mbps.
so your going to be safe on that front...CPU throttling will probably cap you before that thou lol.

No your probably right, it would only be a problem if you were streaming to 1000 odd clients, you will probably be having multiple streams 50+ which on a virtual (shared) server would hit the CPU limit as not to compromise other peoples servers.
