I have Elation DP-SMX4B Stage Pak 1's.. 2 of them that control 8 par 38's. I used to use an Elation stage setter to operate these and my basic par cans.. I am starting to use Free Styler and I am reserching my fixtures and making scenes "virtual" while I wait on my new scanners to arrive .. I would like to know how I would go about controlling these old fixtures and paks with freestyler, I cant afford to add led cans just yet.. so I am adding other effect lighting, Scanners and Led Effects and such..
My question is how would I ad these fixture and control them..

I think, you want to know how to add your Stage Paks? Since I do not know this fixture i guess it is a 4 channel dimmer pack? If so, you can simply add 4 par cans (does not matter if you take a par 64 or par 56 or something else). Assigne those 4 par cans to channels 1, 2, 3 and 4 (for example). Then you set up your dimmer pack startring channel to 1. Same for the second dimmer pack witch channels 5 to 8. Of course you can use any other channels if you want. Now you can controll your par cans by using the 8 individual fixtures.
You may use an especial fixture profile for an 8 channel dimmer pack BUT I think it is the best solution to use simple par cans. If you want to use the master blackout function for example: this function sets all intensety channels to 0 - but a four channel fixture can only have one intensety channel. If you wante to use DMX400 you will also have to use seperate par cans witch seperate intensety channels.
