Does FS have a strobe feature?

I plan on building some LED fixtures (RGB+W : 4 channels) and a 16 channel DMX controller for 4 fixtures. The controller doesn't have a strobe feature, just dimming. Is there a way to do a strobing effect in FS? If you create a sequence and have it flip from 0-255 and vice versa, will the response time be fast enough to look like a strobe?
Thanks

im not sure if its possible, dmx is probably fast enough at about 44hz. But are the fixtures quick enough to respond? does he fixture have enough intensity to make an effect? give it ago.

You can create a sequence that puts on the fixtures in step 1, and puts them off in step 2. Don't forget to do that in snap mode.
Set the sequence time at the fastest possible (which is I think 100 msec per step).
Add it to the cue, and start it. That will work. Most LED fixtures (even the cheap ones) will be able to follow that. The DMX protocol itself won't be a killer - thats fast enough.
You might notice that the flash rythm is'nt that stable. For some DMX interfaces FreeStyler has implemented a refresh rate parameter in the setup. It defaults to 50 ms. Set it to 20 ms, as low as possible. That might help a bit.

Awesome! Thanks Remco for the suggestion. I'll be using the Entec Pro dmx to control everything and will keep the refresh rate in mind when tuning it.
I'll give that a try once I get it built. I'm pretty excited about getting all this put together. I'll post pics/vid once I get it working.

In my experience attempting to strobe in freestyler was quite unstable and unreliable. This was, however back in version 2.x and without changing any refresh rate settings. Just thought I'd let you know incase

Thats why I brought the refresh rate thing up. Been there, done that.

It might not 'solve' it all though. But it gets better.
