Hi,

I tried downloading a user created profile of a chauvet qspot 150 LED. The fixture does not show up in the fixture list. How do I get it to work.

Also, the fixture creator doesn't let me save my fixture profiles but it exports.
AND... whenever I try to change the fixture picture, the fixture creator crashes

any help will be greatly appreciated

Normaly you only have to double-klick the downloaded packed fixture file. Then it will be opend in fixture creator and included to you fixture list in FS. Then a message appears saying "install successfull". But perhaps something with the Creator is wrong (you say it crashes - sorry, but I can not help you with this problem) and so it does not work as expected.

when dowloading fixture files from this forum, the format is pff which stands for "packed fixture file". it contains data and pictures/icons for the specific fixture.

1) you have to unpack the pff file after download by double clicking on it. the fixture creator will automatically unpack the file in the fixture folder.

2) Now you should have the fxt file which FS needs.

3) Restart FS to update the fixture list (or right click the list in the "add/remove fixture" window and choose "Refresh list "
Also, the fixture creator doesn't let me save my fixture profiles but it exports.
you should have the ability to "save" or "save as" in the file menu. if you get a error massage that you cant save because you are missing some values, you have yo check that you ave entered al necessary values . often it is the color and gobo wheels values in the specifid fans which are missing. no empty boxes are allowed

the problem could also be something with administration rights. check if you have Vista's UAC (User Account Control) deactivated.
AND... whenever I try to change the fixture picture, the fixture creator crashes
could be the same problem with the UAC.. try to deactivate it and see what happens

Also don't forget to restart FreeStyler after you've imported a fixture. (by double clickin on it).
