I have a ide for a small extra program for FreeStyler...
Its a second program thats uses FreeStylers Setup and Sequencer file....
Say that U have save the SequenceList and start the second program and from there U can only start and stop Sequences..
And with big buttons like the Touchscreen Window now...
Maby with the possibility 2 put a color on the button and maby a Groupnumber so U only can use 1 sequence from each Groupnumber..
For example I want Houselights on Group1, Scans on Group2 and Par64 on Group3...
And 2 change Sequencefile U must use the password...
All this 4 Club with many DJ so they only have 2 start the computer and the program start auto and they cant do any changes..........

this has been mention before but it wasnt copied over (I suggested it) and yes I agree a stripped down version for people who dont know what there doing is a good idea! although I can see why this may not get implemented..... ever.

Why will it not been done???
Its a good idea and then the program would be used at more places...
I can do the program if Raphael will let me know how the files are saved and I dont think he would like 2 do that...

Cause the program is free its not really intended for a permant installation that would assume that the place its being used at is using in a commercial way i.e. because there consoles broke, or softwares screwed so they use this free software without donation,

I think using it on an infrequent basis at nightclubs etc to 'prove' the softwares capable and or people who are learning or trying to understand more about DMX and lights is a good thing but as a permanent installation in a club, bar or theatre thats earning £££/$$$ every week without support or donating a substanial sum is er wrong....

Raph has brought DMX to the previously out of bounds people who cant afford an expensive system to learn intelligent lighting and dmx and thats some acheivement....

Ps it's written in VB

Users can create there own touchscreen interfaces and send the commands via sendmessage to freestyler.
Contact raph for an sendmessages.

VERY new to all this stuff and am gradually finding my way round the program. Probably not using it how it was meant to be used and am still struggling with what Sub Masters and other bits do / how to use them, but I'm sure after a few more hours of reading it will all click!

I'll be using Freestyler to control lights in our Church Hall for Pantomimes / Musical Events and Parties, a Touch screen with limited functionality would be good as we often let the younger people help with the lighting and it would be better if I could limit the damage they can do.

I like the idea of this too and am a reasonable programmer in VB6 (I also have a touch screen in my kitchen I could test it on). I'm surprised its written in VB I'm guessing its .NET?? Might have to drop Raph a PM about interfacing / sending commands to Freestlyer.

Cheers

Ouch!! Think I better understand the UI bugs :-)

BTW, I agree with the need to be able to have a somehow "closed" interface, even outside of the commercial/club stuff. Simple example: a friend wants to borrow a few fixtures and the dediacted FS notebook I now have. A simple, closed interface would be nice.
Anyway, it's much more important to fix those nasty bugs first  I'll donate as soon as the bezier and panels stuff are fixed :)

I made a small donation yesterday as a first time user / part time programmer I know the un-recognised effort that goes into producing programs of this calibre. I will be making a larger donation once I've worked out how all the features actually work. Without it I'd be a lot more lost than I was before I found it. :fs:

I'm happy to work on a touch screen interface, provided I can get the FS interface details from Raph, and it will interface to VB6.

Kind Regards
