You should post the manual (or the DMX channel description) in order to have a bigger chance that someone creates it for you.

ahh
i figured if anyone had the file they would post it
as apposed to someone having to make it for me
i'm currently looking at the tutorial to make my own, it dosnt look too complicated, expecially with the information i have
however, i figured if anyone had it already, it would probably be easier + there is also the advantage of knowing it will work.

amended nevertheless

If you read the tutorial carefully it is not hard to create your profile. And If you got stuck at some point feel free to upload the profile (even if it is not ready) and the manual and we will try to help you.

When you finish the fixture file and discover that everything works fine it would be great if you can upload it to the Fixture files upload section. So the next one searching for this fixture file could find it.

yea thats exactly what i'm thinking of doing
well i look at it this way, its a community, 2 way street, if i need something and someone has it, i would appreciate it if they helped me out, in the same way as if i had something that could help you out, i would also
so yea, if i end up doing it myself, and looks like i might. then i will upload it for everyone

the only problem i am seeing atm is for the lamp on
in the tutorial it states a particular channel and ammount it has to be to turn the spot on (ch 6, and 130)
now i remember this being the case for some robes i used a number of years back, we were having problems with them, ended up being that the lamp channel had to be set at exactly 51 for a number of seconds for the lamp to turn on.

im not sure if this is the case for the clay paky, in the manual it dosnt seem to actually state having a 'lamp on' feature or channel
likewise when i plug the fixture in, it seems that the lamp turns on, and stays on,
Its just without the dmx signal it seems the fixture turns the dimmer on to full ie. no light
so what would i put in the fixture creater for lamp on?
If the fixture dosnt actually require it. ie. the lamp is always on, its just a matter of how much light passes through the dimmer

also, is this the case with the Clay Paky Stage Light 300
can someone take a look at the manual and confirm this for me
regards. Christopher

As I read in the manual you will controll the dimmer with channel 4. So enter this as the Lampchannel with dimmer 100% = lamp on and 0% = lamp off.

I was beginning to thought that. :) You can safely assume that if anybody had made this fixture file one day and is a visitor of this forum that they would have uploaded their fixture file allready in the user created fixture files area. Users who don't should be ashamed of themselves.
as apposed to someone having to make it for me
Thats good. Learning yourself about how to create these fixture files is a good fundament.
