hi Folks,
seems this device is not made for me.....
had a gig last weekend and after setup everything was working fine. then al of a sudden the LED went on constantly (according to manual: problem!), i wanted to update firmware as suggested in the manual via Enttech Pro utility tool. cant connect, update failed, pro not responding. all sorts of excuses.
does anybody have an idea how to reset manually or DO SOMETHING????????
cheers alex

I had the same issue with a enttec pro interface on my laptop running Vista. I tried to plug it in a laptop running XP and now it is working again. haven't tried to reconnect the interface to the laptop running vista. maybe it is driver problem on vista which is causing this?

I ran my pro on vista for ages with no problems like that so I don't think that is the problem.
Could be wrong?

I've had 1 time my Enttec Pro failed on me the same way. This occured when the fixtures were being connected and put on while the Enttec pro was on and running DMX signals. Maybe a power spike or interferece that made my pro go down. LED kept on burning like yours. Just unplugged it from USB, plugged it back in, running fine then. Afterwards never had that problem anymore, even when I tried about the same situation.
Not sure if the Enttec Pro is to blame. Maybe the USB power was dipping or failing at that point, or something like that.
If you keep on having this problem, you should try to connect an powered (not passive!) USB hub in between and see how it goes. Doing that the Enttec Pro gets its power from the powered USB hub instead of from your computer.

maybe you are right, for me it didn't help to unplug and plug it back in the usb Port, had to do it on another computer before i could communicate with the enttec pro again. It could be, as you said, something about the USB ports on my laptop and it had to be rebooted.

Hi folks,
i tried again to connect, didnt work, then i used my external powered usb hub, still nothing (led always on)

, then i tried to connect via D2XX driver and still nothing. finally i tried the normal com port and i was able to update firmware.

.
ne lets ma see how far i get with this.
funny, with my JMS device i never had problems and i will definatelly keep jms as a spare one, since the enttech f----ed me around once.
cheers and thx for your support.

Just now I understand that the LED is always on, even when you re-connect the Enttec to the/any USB port?
Thats weird.

Sometimes if the driver fails or an error occurs move it to a new USB port for the driver to be re-installed that may help sometimes (and/or moving the powered usb hub to a different USB)
