Quick Question...
Is it possible to use the enttec usb to dmx pro's input to control FS with a small dmx board. If not then what interface can be used with FS to allow such control. Thanks.

There is only one DMX IN interface that you can use and that is the Martin LightJockey interface. Could not tell you which version.

A lot of FreeStyler users use MIDI controllers such as the Behringer BCF2000 or the Korg nano series as a control surfaces.

If you was using the Enttec as a DMX IN interface then you would need another interface for your output, as the Pro can only be OUT or IN not both at sametime.

can the enttec Open DMX USB be configured for an input, and if so could you use 2 of them, one in one out. Just a thought

Also, can 2 korg nano series controllers be used to control light parameters? For example the nanokontrol and nanopad. Thanks

yes, that is doable, but Freestyler only support one midi controller at the time. MIDIOX and MIDI Yoke is the solution of that issue.

When you have installed these two programs look at this topic:

Also, just a side thought, is there a way to trigger cues, and chases to a audio input in FS.

Not exactly but there is a really cool s2l interface for FS. Its now bundled with FS so if you have the latest version then you will have this too.

you can also use MIDI signals to trigger a lot of things in FreeStyler, including sequences

In the s2l interface, does it trigger rgb color fades as well, the club has 4 min spots, and 4 min washes. Probably adding more fixtures, and I want to be able to trigger colors and cues from the korg nanos but I also sometimes want the cues and sequences to sync with the audio input, any ideas on how to do this. The korg nanos are just used as midi tiggers, but they don't do audio interfacing. Thanks for the help, kind of new to FS

I'm full of brilliant ideas but none of them involve using the S2L interface to run my shows for me.

The S2L is NOT a trigger for sequences and cues in the sense that it cannot 'call' the required sequences / cues in the way you might think.
The S2L WILL trigger scene changes within a sequence.

I use submasters to run my shows and only apply the s2l to trigger scene changes on colour and gobo pallete sequencies. (if you want to understand more about what im talking about here then read the submaster tutorial)

So does anyone know if you can trigger cues to and audio input in FS? That or sequences to an audio input?

@Djsim

I dont mean to be rude so Im sorry if this comes across that way but do you have a problem with English ? Is what I wrote not clear enough ? Is what I wrote invisible to you ? Or are you just ingnoring me ?

Its just that you have asked the same question that I have answered directly above your post!
Just to clarify ...

ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO USE THE S2L IN FS TO TRIGGER ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE NEXT STEP WITHIN A SEQUENCE!!!!!

Now hopefuly you get it now ?

* 'Daddy' of S2L checking in
Answer: No.

What it can do is already answered by dmxlighting: it just lets sequences jump to the next step every beat - or triggers an override button.

Sorry, I didn't realize that there was a second page. I didn't mean for it to seem like I was ignoring you, just wasn't paying attention to the pages. Thanks for the reply, your response was helpful. Thanks.
