Running Cues Question

Hi, I was using the software last night at our church and I have a few questions.

We are in the process of switching from a board that only does 24 DMX channels to something like freestyler that can handle more channels. We are using the ENTTEC Pro USB to DMX converter.

Ok, so I load all of our PARs and Fresnels into the software and have laid them out nicely on the screen. I have played with their levels, open/close, etc. to verify they all work on the correct channel layout that we want to use.

At this point, to keep it simple to start with, I want to save 2 stable/non-changing cues: Worship and Preaching

So I set the lights like I want them for worship. I then open the cue button and click the plus button to save the single step. I save the cue as "worship". and add it to the cue list and add the button. (Can't you set the time to inifinity for something stable?)

I did the same for preaching. Set the lights, open the cue button and click the plus button to save the single step. I save the cue as "preaching". and add it to the cue list and add the button.

Now I open the cue list and hit the play button on one of them, nothing happens. Try to switch between (by hitting play & stop between them), still nothing happens. Try using the buttons also, nothing.

I also tried saving the cue list (each with only one item) as sequences and using the submasters, still noting.

What am I doing wrong? What am I missing? The software seems pretty intuitive, but is it really?

I have been skimming through everything about the software looking for answers and there really isn't a good tutorial or manual out yet that really takes things step by step. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Brian

B,

You have to open the "create sequence" window first, then set the lights like you want, then save and add to button. When you open your over-ride button window and press either of the scenes you created, it will stay that way until you undo the over-ride.

The Cue window is to organize and run the sequences you have made.

EDITED, please re-read, haha

Have your been through the menu Help>Contents within FreeStyler?

Have you looked at the FreeStyler Wiki ?

Both good source of information on FreeStyler.
