Freestyler in theater use...

Hello all,

I am new to the freestyler / computer dmx controller world. I have looked through the WIKI and searched the forums as well as through any manuals I could find. I have not found an answer to my questions below. Perhaps one of you may be able to help... Or suggest a better way of trying to accomplish what I need. I have become fairly comfortable with moving around in the software and have created custom fixtures for some of my lights. So hopefully I wont be too much of an annoyance to you all! :)

I am trying to use freestyler with RGB LED PARs and standard PARs on DMX Packs. I have programed each light change as an individual sequence (some of them needing to simulate disco lights have multiple scenes in the sequence). I have added the sequences to CUEs and assigned the CUEs to buttons.

Here is what I am running into as far as problems:

I can't find a way to fade between sequences in a CUE.

I also experience something I think is odd when clicking on CUE list buttons on the right side of the CUE window, all sequences in the cue go to (I assume run mode) and all have a red stop button on them... is there any way to just have it start the first one? Or do nothing until you click one?

I may not be using the software as intended... (yeah I know, shocking right!)

How are others using the software in a theatrical environment?

Currently (and this has been metioned before) there is not a way to do this but that could change. I think its an important feature.

The Cuelist Buttons are used for setups where each attribute of a fixture is programmed individually.
(see the submaster tutorial for more info http://www.freestylersupport.com/fsforu ... f=5&t=1803)
So they are doing what they are intended for and as you said, you are not.
Read the tutorial through, it might not be altogether relevant to you but im sure it will make a world of difference to you.

Good luck, report back with any more questions!
