The function still works, but you are required to use single dimmers, for the dmx 400. I.E the single par cans in the fixture list.

Hello,
I also think that de dmx400 should work with dimmerpack. When i use it like now with a single par, I get an error like "this ficture contain no dimmerchannel of rgb channel ..."
When i have to connex 16 par on one dimmerpack, it was easy to do like the earlier programs, just give the dmx adress and it was done.
Know I have to add 16 pars, select each channel, and it doens't work ...
I thinks it's not very practical in use for the moment.
I hope that this will change in te future ....

well the thing is that even if i put single par cans DMX 400 still doesn't work. I have to create a new fixture , choose <<other>> type of fixture, eliminate it to one channel and make this channel to be the intensity. Then i have to make at least six of them with difference in the appearance , or the name , so when i load them inside freestyler , i can understand wich i am working with...The last thing is that i have to right click on each of them and define the DMX 400 channel i want it to work...
The last thing is that if i have some moving heads , lets say 5 or 6, some rgb leds , lets say 3 and i add 6 pars instead of a single 6 channels dimmer...the workspace will be much complicated...
So i still believe that it is a
must DMX 400 to work again with dimmers

There amy be an error with your fixture file, the fixture is a dimmer should be selected, but should only have one channel.
I do aggree about the dimmer packs being introduced back in.
Possibly with an interface with two sets of faders for scene A and Scene B with a fader to switch between the two.

I can't understand why "the new" DMX 400 should be so usefull! In previous versions of FS it was so easy to make a chase by PAR Cans via a dimmer. Open DMX 400 set the start adress (adress of the dimmer), be happy!!! But now... I'm not capable to get light out of PAR Cans via DMX 400.
Please make DMX 400 so easy like it was.
...Only for interest: How can I controll PAR Cans via a dimmer by DMX 400? I tried the descrptions of the other posts but it doesn't works.

Be creative, make your own sequences, add to cue manager, change one sequence to random, save cue, Add to a submaster.
Will be a lot more pleasing for you, when you have multiple types of lights all working together.

Once you get to know them you will love them#.
There fairly easy to get the hang of.
In the cue list where you normally add your cues, is a button called save cue.
So once you added your cues, set your options (random, release override, restore original value etc) then click save cue.
Name the cue appropriately E.G Par Cans.
Goto the submasters, click open cue and drag the cue into a sub master window.
You now have an organized player for your parcans.
Select a cue and click GO, the fader on the right is intensity set it to the top for full brightness.
Then create new submasters for Movements, Colours, Shutters, Rotation etc and you will have a highly customizable show.
Matt (The dmx400 does need fixing thou)
