That is true for most (if not all) people who are lazy and only register here to get their problem solved and after that never ever come back, until a next problem occurs.
I'm pretty active on 3 forums (including this one - which is the only English forum), all 3 on a different subject but all technical. (registered them all "remco_k" with the same icon, so you should be able to find me). And next to this there are 2 other forums where I'm just an active user who responds from time to time.
I see these problems on all forums. There are passive users, active users and pro active users. (As I like to call them)
Passive users don't read rules, only visit the forum to post their problem "hey, this does not work, why?" and a few days later they fetch the solution and never come back.
Active users are better. They come by, forget to read the rules the first time, then have their problem solved and stay tuned in for reading other threads, sometimes posting possible solutions and possibly grow on to the next level:
Pro active users are the next level; I don't need to explain what they do, you'll see their names popping up almost every day in a topic.
My point is: it will NEVER change! Passive users will be coming every now and then and they are so _annoying_. Everytime the same story: I need *this*.
Don't post the manual nor DMX description. Then we ask for it, then the DMX channel description is there (if in luck)...
I hate to see it. And I actualle was expecting this dude "bramw" to come here, as I've pointed him to this forum on a dutch forum. I even already told him to post the manual or DMX channel description with it... And he did'nt do that... So, what rule going to change that? I personally told him too, before he even registered here. I would love to say he's a lazy asshole, together with some other dudes asking for fixtures without even bothering for 1 minute to get the DMX description or the manual or just to start the fixture creator or just SEARCH for the already made fixture. But I can't say they are lazy assholes, because then I'm being rude.
So I found a solution:
- If a new "would you create this fixture file for me" topic is created and it does not fit regulations (post dmx channel description or manual AT LEAST) then it should be closed immediately with a pre-defined close message, telling the dude nicely he did'nt create a topic according to the rules, with a link to a litte page with that rules.
Am i done typing? No! Am I going to bother you with it? No! (lucky you)
Just my 2 cents on this.
