Like I said on another forum earlier today: it might be smart to post the manual or DMX channel description with it.

well, we can't make a fixture with that information

if you can't give us a manual or DMX channel description , you have to get the info needed using reverse engineering.

add a 8 ch dimmer or 8 par can fixtures to FS. try to see what happens at the different DMX values on each channel.

I know it's hard time consuming work, but it is the best input I can give without the manual or dmx description

Right. I think something else is the problem.

2 minutes google work:
http://www.eurobaltronics.com/files/dow ... manual.pdf
(I also attached the pdf to this post in case of the link become dead in the future.)

So, whats next. Do we need to come by, polish it and install it for you? :) Or is there something you actually want to do yourself? (Like have a go at creating the fixture file yourself)

Also, if you just did some really basic search stuff, you would have found that someone else has made the fixture file more than a year ago:
http://www.freestylersupport.com/fsforu ... 905&p=3067

So you're in luck.

Im all in favor of having this 'Request' area but I think the rules need to be a bit tighter.

I think Remco's comments were spot on if not a little reserved (I would have been more blunt)

Lucky this is s friendly forum!

Seriously though, we will always help those who try to help themselves more than those who want it all given to them. :ugeek:

something like this?

1. Do a search or look at the fixture forum to see if your fixture already is made
2. your request has to contain the dmx description of the fixture (Manual, link to manual or write it yourself), and which mode you want.

How about a mandatory €50 donation required for each fixture requests? :D

I guess that sticking ridgidly to the 'rules' can make someone come accross as a bit of a tosser.
Perhaps thats the difference between us here as a friendly forum and other places of far less help that I wont mention.

Still rules is rules and should be read by forum members before posting!

All this is as likely as any of us reading 'terms and conditions' of that new bit of software you just installed.

That is true for most (if not all) people who are lazy and only register here to get their problem solved and after that never ever come back, until a next problem occurs.

I'm pretty active on 3 forums (including this one - which is the only English forum), all 3 on a different subject but all technical. (registered them all "remco_k" with the same icon, so you should be able to find me). And next to this there are 2 other forums where I'm just an active user who responds from time to time.
I see these problems on all forums. There are passive users, active users and pro active users. (As I like to call them)
Passive users don't read rules, only visit the forum to post their problem "hey, this does not work, why?" and a few days later they fetch the solution and never come back.
Active users are better. They come by, forget to read the rules the first time, then have their problem solved and stay tuned in for reading other threads, sometimes posting possible solutions and possibly grow on to the next level:
Pro active users are the next level; I don't need to explain what they do, you'll see their names popping up almost every day in a topic.

My point is: it will NEVER change! Passive users will be coming every now and then and they are so _annoying_. Everytime the same story: I need *this*.
Don't post the manual nor DMX description. Then we ask for it, then the DMX channel description is there (if in luck)...
I hate to see it. And I actualle was expecting this dude "bramw" to come here, as I've pointed him to this forum on a dutch forum. I even already told him to post the manual or DMX channel description with it... And he did'nt do that... So, what rule going to change that? I personally told him too, before he even registered here. I would love to say he's a lazy asshole, together with some other dudes asking for fixtures without even bothering for 1 minute to get the DMX description or the manual or just to start the fixture creator or just SEARCH for the already made fixture. But I can't say they are lazy assholes, because then I'm being rude.

So I found a solution:
- If a new "would you create this fixture file for me" topic is created and it does not fit regulations (post dmx channel description or manual AT LEAST) then it should be closed immediately with a pre-defined close message, telling the dude nicely he did'nt create a topic according to the rules, with a link to a litte page with that rules.

Am i done typing? No! Am I going to bother you with it? No! (lucky you)

Just my 2 cents on this.

OK deep breath. Hold. Slow exhale. Feel the blood pressure gradually dropping, dropping, dropping, Ahhhhh. ;)
Now go steady as you step down from you soap box, you may feel a bit ''light'' headed and I would not want you to fall over. ;)

In all seriousness what you say at the end of the post about closing threads that dont include the vital info is a good idea.
You have got to want to help yourself before you can expect anyone else to help you.

This is true for whole life not just forums! :ugeek:

Hey Guys...

first, I'm a german and I'm sorry for my bad english, but i will try my best.. ;)

One year ago i bought a Space-3 Laser and soon i want to control it via DMX. Now I own a USB DMX512 Interface and start to control this Laser with Freestyler. At first I tried the Fixture Files of Space-1 and Space Color. Then I downloaded the Space-3 Fixture from here, but with all these fixtures i cant do that what i want to do.

In that Case I tried to write my own Fixture File for the Space-3 Laser. With this Fixture File i now can control each category (Lines, Tunnels, Curves, Other) and even select each symbol of these categories. The Colorwheel in this FF is abused for controlling the axis and for zooming functions. One Gobowheel is for shaking the Y-Axis up and down. Shaking the X-Axis to left and right is placed as a macro. Main Functions like "Music-Mode", "Automatic-Mode" and "DMX-Mode" can be controlled too.

I Hope this Fixture File (Space-3 Laser Full) will do its best for other users too.

My DMX-Adress (configured on the back of the laser) is 002.

Best Wishes

Senn

Remco_K youre totally right. Im a newbie in this forum and didn't read the rules too. but i think i understand the sense of using this forum. its real pity that so many users in forums thinks so egoistic. Its not a bazar. If you want something you have to give too. I think everybody could create his own fixtures if the interest is huge enough. The Fixture Creator is such a great tool. A bit of logic understanding, the dmx channel description, a bit testing in freestyler and some minutes of creating and your new fixture file is ready.
