Sound 2 Light

Hey,
I have a question regarding Sound 2 Light.
At the fixture I made a right click and say "React to audio". Now I open the S2L Window, select the audio source, click on "Random DMX Value" and then Start.
The VU-Meter at the S2L Window recognized the music and the beatcounter also detect the beat of the track.
But my scanner do nothing ...
What made I wrong? I take a look at the tutorial but see nothing different.

When using random DMX value you can select pan / tilt fade so the mirror or head movement is smooth.
Then you also need to give each parameter a range it can work in from 0 to 255. (colour, gobo, pan, tilt)
You must do this on some or all features or nothing will happen.

Every parameter has an dmx value from 1 to 255.
I tried also "Jump to next step" and selected the used sequences. But there is also nothing happened ...

And you are using the NEW s2l program by Remco_k ?
If yes what version are you using?
(Must have posted at the same time as LJ Krede)

I do the same for a test, works perfectly with the same software. Even with your nexus scanner profile.
Are you sure you did'nt have any overrides active?

Just to rule out possibilities: please try 1.0.0.0
Can be downloaded from my website:

There's nothing cool about a bug, bitch!
(And there's no such thing as bugs. They are just really good undocumented features. Well, thats what I tell my boss...

)
Damn, this week I was thinking making the 1.0.0.5 version an official release. (LJ_Krede triggered that thaught)
And this is strange, as it works here for me. So can you guy's (

) also try the same combination and let me know if it works?
@dustin: could you re-try with 1.0.0.5 again and see if you can get it to work somehow.

Hi Remco,
change to 1.0.0.5 and the scanner don't do anything. Going back to 1.0.0.0 it works.
By the way, is it normal that the scanner doesn't move so much but change colors and gobo very fast?

Its random, maybe with fade on or so. Nothing is normal and nothing is not.
Either way: I don't use the random values. I want to have full controll, so when I use sound 2 light, I select a few sequences in the cue window that I let respond to sound. Every beat trigger lets the sequence go to the next step. That way you can pre-define what do to. Random does not look good. (at least, is my opinion).
There is one thing I could think of why its not working: another window that have the name 'FS'.

Ok, I will try this. At the moment I create a few cues with movements, colors ,etc. Then I will test them with S2L.

FYI: a few minutes ago I sent dustin a PM with a link to a new beta version. The problem will not be solved in there, but it has some debug logging built into it.
To be continued...

Now we all have the new freestyler

, and we can use the new functions of s2l.
But there are a lot of options in there already. Can you give a guide or manual how the program is used with its full potentials..
So how you expect to apply all beta features

, how can i say this.. :p
Hoe bedoelt is om het programma te gebruiken met al zijn features..

As apposed to the usual
uneducated engineers I meet on an almost daily basis
I take it you have some exams coming up soon. Good luck with them. What type of engineering are you going into ?

well, the deadline for the project is around 10th of February, I should have time to write something after that date (and it would be great with a enttec usb dmx pro interface

)
dmxlighting wrote:What type of engineering are you going into ?
I started studying electronics but changed it to Production Technology.. it's something about optimizing the production flow and process' and reducing stocks (LEAN, SMED, JIT, kaizen, blah blah blah) and that kinds of stuff.
my big dream is to work for
Martin Professional, maybe in their test apartment
