Could I resize the images that FS uses when adding fixtures (not in 3D view) without hurting software functionality?

yes!

the images is in the "...\FreeStyler\Fixtures" folder. here you can open and edit the images. it wont affect anything in the fixture file but the image which is loaded when adding the fixture or opens a location file in FS. the images is not included in the fxt fixture files, it only tells FS where to find it

Thanks! I was hoping that I could resize to allow more fixtures on the screen without crowding. I knew where they were at and that FS was just calling them, but I wanted to confirm that there would be no issues in resizing.

You might take in consideration when you reinstall FreeStyler, or a exported fixture file (*.pff) that those resized files might be overwritten again by the original.

So I think it is better to create (read: copy) your own fixture files with your own images (filenames) so that they are not overwritten by accident. A bit more work, but safer.
Or better yet: maybe it is possible to request a software change. A setting in FreeStyler that dynamicly resizes the images to some target height and width (maintaining the aspect ratio). Thus not changing the actual image file, just displaying them smaller or bigger. And all at the same size.

I've only been using the software for a few days and there are just a few things that I would request, before requesting that the software have the ability to resize a fixture image. That I can handle.

is should not (only?) be implemented in the fixture creator but in Freestyler (as remco said). if you have to do it in fixture creator you have to open each fixture and resize the fixture, then open FS and see if it looks alright. If it is dne in FS you only have to do it once for all used fixture images and instantly see if it looks good or it has to be resized again

I've noticed that FreeStyler resizes the icons at programm start based on the screen resolution.

For example I've created 27x27 icons. Under 1600x1200 there all sharp. When I use my laptop only I have a screen resolution 1440x1050. The the icons are resized to 23x23 and look really blurry.

Is there any way to stop Freestyler to do this? My Screen is big enough to display the icons in 27x27 and I could move the fixtures if the icon's are overlapping.

When I've started FreeStyler on my Laptop with a external monitor connected (resolution 1600x1200) and then plug off the monitor, the icons are still the same size on the Laptop screen (1440x1050).

If tried the new version 3.3.1, but the problem still exists. Images are getting still smaller yet



Is there any way to keep the original size?
