New S2L version messing up sequences?

I have installed the latest S2L with the new BeatmultiPlier and the sequence restart feature and really like it. However, since i installed it the only way i can get a sequence other than the one using the restart feature to work is if i hold hold the play button down. I am not sure that S2L caused it but it seems at least somewhat likely.

Any help would be appreciated

If you shut down the S2L, does it work normally then?
Does it also work before you start S2L?

With what version of FS are you working?

There is a third number: 3.2.x
What is the x?

That is strange as I test releases and beta releases against the official release (so not beta's) of FreeStyler. In this case also 3.2.1.
I did get some complaints about other things not working (FS not receiving beats at all), but that were problems when using a newer beta version of FreeStyler. (wich I'm ofcourse also looking into).

I retried over and over again with 3.2.1 but I can't reproduce the problem you are describing. Also I did'nt receive any complaints about the same issue.
So I can start and stop other sequences without any problems, just the way it should work. And from the looks of it, with >30 downloads of the beta version in a few days, I guess that other people have it working correctly also.
I guess there is some difference in configuration of FS or some parameters in the cue window that are causing it.

I hope you can figure out a situation that does work good and thereby know what is causing the problem. Then I can see if I can reproduce it on my workstations and maybe do something about that particular situation in S2L. Maybe even fix it, depending on the source of the problem.

Offtopic:
So I'm from Holland and I think I'm doing the english language pretty well. But now one word is bothering me over and over again:
Receive and Recieve. As far as my knowledge goes, both words can be used. But in what situation do people use received and what situation recieved?
I'm lost...

The rule is 'i before e except after c'

so the word is spelt 'received' and 'recieved' is acually spelt incorrectly.

Hope that clears it up

I found out that you have to deactivate the sequences in S2L if you have stopped it in FS Cue window. Otherwise the fixture(s) on that sequence(s) will flash rapidly once and a while (S2L starts and stops the sequence). I don't think it can be fixed without any changes in the Freestyler Software. the S2L don't know which sequences is activated or not.

This is what I was experiencing. its like the other sequences arent looped even though loop is turned on. I'll keep messing with it.

and you did remove the checkmark(s) in the seqence restarter for the sequence(s) you dont want to restart every beat?

the Beat Multiplier has influence on all sequences in FS which is S2L active. try to turn the multiplier off and see if that solves your problem.

i think it would be great if the beat multiplier was individual for the sequences. and heres why:

* I have s chase for my PAR cans with 20 steps i want to change step every beat --> the Beat multiplier (BM) has to be off
* I want to make a volume bar effect with my LED bars: when the beat is comming i want the bar to light:
step 1: Green, Yellow and Red,
step 2: Green, Yellow
step 3: Green

(if the BM could be set for more than 4 it would be nice but i dont know if that is to fast as well?)

then the BM has to be set on 3.
like it works now that would make the Par can chase to restart every 3rd step.

As with many thing (especially the English langauge!) there are exceptions to the rule!

From Wikipedia.....

"I before E, except after C" is a mnemonic device devised to help students remember how to spell certain words in the English language. It means that, in words where i and e fall together, the order is ie, except directly following c, when it is ei. ie:

* ie in words like siege, friend, thief
* ei in words like ceiling, receive, deceive

However, the rule, in its short form as above, has many common exceptions, such as species, science, sufficient, ancient (where ie follows c) or seize, weird, atheist, weight, sovereignty, foreign, vein, feisty, kaleidoscope and neighbor (where ei is not preceded by c). More exceptions are listed below. Various augmentations to the rhyme have been proposed to handle these exceptions.

In June 2009, the British government advised primary school teachers to stop teaching the rule.

I guess I'm trying to do what S2L isnt supposed to really do. I was trying to keep the multiplier on while running other sequences at the same time. This meant one sequence would run on the restart feature while the others would run on simple multiplier. It does work if i uncheck the box for the one sequence but i barely have enough hands as it is

Dude! Spot on!
(Nice one huh! "Spot on")
I just tried to figure a way out of this "mess", but I can't without Raph having to change FreeStyler so that I don't have to toggle the sequences off/on to restart them on step 1. This problem would be solved if I could just send a message containing a request to set a sequence to step 1.
Then S2L can have more sequences enabled for restart then are actually enabled in FreeStyler and cause no problems.
For now you should only enable the sequences for restart in S2L that you have actually enabled.

Thanks for the language update. Made it a bit more clearer to me.
