Hey everyone,
For the life of me I cant get the Led 56 rains to activate in Freestyler 3.2.1.
I had add them as fixtures with all my other lights and set the dip switches to the assigned locations.I hightlight them both in Freestyler and try to creat a sequence but nothing happens. No light, flash, strobe, not even a slight dim of light. So I removed them and redded them to a differnt line at the end..ex line 9 & 10 in the fixture list..reset the new address on the dip switches
and still nothing. The directions in the manual by Chauvet says to make sure dip #10 is on for dmx control.Check its on.
I even tried deleting them and readding using the par 56 fixture..stll nothing.
Any ideas what i may be doing wrong here? I even tried downloading a fixture mod for the rain 56..still nothing.
My cheaper other pars work great..just these two are causing me grief.
I have a wedding this Sunday and I really need these!! :D

Just to be sure: You are not working in offline mode right?
(Make sure you have the cue screen closed, as otherwise no changes are carried out to the DMX interface.)

No my cue window is off/not active...check

I set the address to dip 1and 10 only and it worked fine in freestyler. It seems when I go to add these fixtures as 2 ea in to line 6 and 7 and then set the dip switches according to the layout or diagrahm it shows me nothing happens. So I deleted the fixtures and tried adding them at the end of my light list figuring..mabe the addresses might work this way and then reset them according to the diagram pictured for me and still nothing.
I am afraid of shifting these 2 to the front of the list and then having all my light settings changed that I already have set and working with sequences.
I must be missing something with these dip switches somewhere...so close..

I own a few Chauvet lights, and their dipswitch configuration is different from other manufacturers such as ADJ and Martin. With Chauvet, their dipswitches are usually flipped upwards for on, downwards for off. The LEDRain's manual shows this on page 8 and it is probably marked this way on the dipswitch itself. If you're following FreeStyler's illustration in the Setup > Add/Remove Fixtures window, or if you're using the Wiki's Dipswitch Calculator, the switch settings will be wrong--it will lead you to set each switch in the opposite position for your LEDRain.

You can follow Chauvet's direction to convert your desired address number from decimal into binary. However, an easier way is to look at the illustration in FreeStyler's Add/Remove Fixtures window---and then set the switches in the opposite direction. (Switches in the "up" position should be flipped to the "down" position, and switches in the "down" position should be flipped "up".)

Before using your fixture, there is one last thing needed to be done. One of the switches needs to be in the correct position. From the user's manual:
Note: Dipswitch 10 must be turned on to activate DMX control mode.

Note: Older 8-dipswitch version must have dipswitch 8 turned off to activate DMX control mode. Dipswitches 1-7 set the DMX address, and the maximum address is 127.
So in other words, if your dipswitch has 10 poles, the last one on the right needs to be in the "up" position. If your switch is older and has only 8 poles, the last one needs to be in the "down" position, and you can only use DMX addresses up to 127 for the lights.

Hope this solves your problem!

That was it,,Thanks Gary and to all who helped on my lighting issue!
Even though I even tried reversing the switches earlier..because I suspected the same thing of them being backwards..
It was the 8,9.that was throwing me.Works great now. :D

Thanks guys and enjoy your holiday weekend!
