Some random questions I want to ask u professionals about freestyler?

#1, if I make a cue and play it, and after I'm done, I click on stop, but, then my laser just keeps displaying that current pattern "step" where is have stoped, Until I actually go to my laser and select black out mode on the sliders on the right side, but I want the laser to black out then I click on stop on the cue list, how can I do that?

#2, Then I use freestyler, is used 800 mb ram? is this normal, and if I used sound to light function is uses 100% of one if my CPU cores, hectic??

Hi Yofo

#1 The 'Stop' will just stop the sequence playback, it will not blackout. Any atributes will just go 'static' so pan / tilt will stop but everything else will stay the same . If you need the fixture to blackout then you need to create a sequence to do this. Have a look at my guide to using submasters and cues.

#2 As onge said Make sure you have the lastest FS version. Also get Remco's sound interface as its much more stable. Are you running the magic 3d vis?
This could cause you problems if you dont have much memory to begin with ?

2) Mark "Cue "Go to previous value" always enabled"
3) Before you start any sequences in the cue window, make sure the laser dont send out the beam.

Now the laser beam should turn off when you deactivtae the sequence.

I guess you are not using the newest FreeStyler as with that setup came a totally new Sound 2 Light application which uses much less CPU than the previous S2L did. Your profile confirms that so: upgrade your FreeStyler.

If having the same RAM problems with the newest FreeStyler:
Where do you get the info from FreeStyler is using 800 MB of Ram?
Can you make a screenshot of the windows task manager tab "processes" then?

I still have v3.0.1, I will download a new version right now, and also the sound to light 2

yea, 100% CPU usage on a 3.2Ghz core is insane
I have a core2due "two 3.2Ghz cores"

I have installed freestyer v3.2.1, now I only takes up 41,592 MB of ram so far, but I still have some problems with my cue play button, I must use the sliders of my laser to put in first in DMX mode, and then the cue works, If I play it, and if I click on stop, in still continuous with the current step? What can be the problem?
Only then I exit the program, then it blacks out beautiful

Freestyler uses 41 MB ram on a 15 step max "[NumberOfScenes]"

I have edited my freestyler.ini file so that I have a max of 999 steps, this is probably why it uses 800mb of ram

cue problem solved, by clicking on the blue arrow pointing up "Restore values"
So the advice from dmxlighting should work, awesome, I have noticed that one of my sequences is messed up, that's why the advice from dmxlighting didn't work earlier.

What does this error means? If I start up the program it tells me this

Oops, sorry my bad, can you maybe tell me that is that error message, and how can I fix it?

I have not seen this error before but it looks like FS is looking for some cues to load and they are not there anymore, maybe you have deleted them?

I guess fs still runs ok if you click yes ?
