Hello
I have freestyler 3.0.1 and i had a Power module Eurolite Dimmer PAck (4 ports) i try to use the dimmer pack in DMX400 but i have a message (This fixture hasn't got an intensity channel and is not an RGB fixture.)
But a dimmer pack have not 1 intensity channel but 4 and have not a RGB fixture !
What is the method to control a dimmer pack in DMX400
Best regards
A.

Don't use a dimmer pack as a fixture.
Instead use some par56's (example 6 par's)
then use dmx400. It won't work with a dimmer pack.

I don't use the DMX400 feature, so I dont know.
I do know that you can use (and should use) the override buttons for the same functionality.

Apart from 'open dmx400' there are no keyboard shorts for it at all.
However there are loads of midi commands for it so that may be what you need to look in to.
Remmember that DMX400 is basic and is realy just a stand alone program within FS for quick chase making.
I think you should look beyond that use and get your head into proper programming. It will be well worth it my friend!

there is one feature in DMX400 you cant do in the FreeStyler programming and that is the BackGround light. you cant make sequences where you can adjust the background light at live performance.. or is there? if yes, please tell me

Yes there is. In fact, I use it this way all the time.
Make one (or more) 1 step sequences and set the amount of light you wish for the fixtures you wish.
Save the sequence, add them to the override buttons and enable the button. Voila, background light.

hmmm, if i use the override buttons to background light, i cant run a sequence on these fixtures (par cans)

cant get it to work as remco_k described it,
yes, you can use override buttons to adjust the BG light, but if you want to run a sequence on the fixtures where you have BG light (like in the dmx400) you cant. the override buttons takes presedence and not HTP as it should if you want the BG light to work as the dmx400 feature.
please correct me i'm wrong, for i really want some adjustable BG light. I know i can use a preset for it, but if it possible i want something simple

Now I get what you mean.
I use background light only on fixtures that I don't use in other sequences. So I don't have a problem with the override buttons.
Still, your problem is'nt really a problem. Override buttons are override buttons. So no HTP or LTP together with the DMX400.
So, you are right, it does not work that way. I don't know another way for it at the moment.

so the only solution at the moment is to use a BG light preset you can adjust before or under the live show. maybe it is something raph can look into if he want some day

Errr I got this to work.
Setup a static dimmed sequence for some led pars (1 step in red dimmed to about 30%) and set this to an overide button.
Then I ran an RGB (3 step sequence) from a submaster with the overide button on and it worked.
The result was interesting as it was colormixing the submaster feed over the dimmed red so I basicly got some pastle colors going on. looked cool.
I guess in theroy this should not work but it did!
Ive not tried it with traditional pars but i guess it would work.
EDIT - Just tried with traditionals and it did not work! - Why did it work with the led pars ?
EDIT 2 - Its OK Ive worked it out. The overide button is doing the red (channel 1) and the other 2 channels (Blue & Green) remain unaffected and just working as normal. No what I thought was happening! Still and interesting effect anyway.
Dmx Dimmers on touch screen

Hi there im not sure ive got this posted in the right section but what the heck
im using freestyler for Moving lights LED parcans and Generics
when i patch the dimmer i patch it as 24 indiviual par cans which is fine when using freestyler as normal , i can select the lights i want and change there brightneess
but i want to use freestyler on a touchscreen using the interface
i can work with moving lights ok on the touch screen but it doesnt seem to have an option for a dimmer channel with basic generic fixtures
i cant even get them to work right using the keypad
if i have 6 single par cans i click ( on the touchscreen keypad ) Fixture 1 Thru 6 @100 and press enter
only the first fixture goes to 100%
what am i doing wrong and maybe this is a part freestyler needs work on ?
thanks
just noticed even with moving lights eg martin mac 250 the only dimmer options the touchscreen gives you is dimmer 0% or dimmer 100%
