guys, i have watched youtube video by miky mike, which helped a lot,but when i start to creat a new fixture for my LED PAR light it just won't work.

it is a simple 4ch light, as below:

Channel No. DMX Value Description
1 0~127 Master Dimmer, 0100%
128~250 Strobe, slow to fast
251~255 RGB ON (white)
2 0~255 Red Dimmer, 0 100%
3 0~255 Green Dimmer, 0100%
4 0~255 Blue Dimmer, 0100%

i am attaching the printscreens of my setting, very appreciated if someone can have a look and shed some lights.

I have finished one and saved as fxt file, then I can add it to freestyler, but it can not be found in the 3D visualizer. I checked the library for the visualizer, they are all ssl files. i can not export an ssl file to the library. and the fixture creator can only export pff files, what is that for?

And how come there is no sliders in freestylers software for each fixtures? like you would see from mydmx, or daslight? they should be but i can't find it.

its looks okay to me.. it could be a good idea to set an off valuse for the strobe.. maybe 127.

the 3D visualizer is not made by Raph, so you have to make your fixture in that program as well, to use it in the visualizer. use the "scanlibrary editor" to make the fixture.

hi guys, thanks so much. i am searching for the scanlibrary editor on google, and it seems it comes with the sunlite suite, not available seperately. I am download that suit and see if i get what i need.

I got one more question: in my printscreens above, there is a channel desription tag,and there is "locate values", i got 127 in the first, and 0s for the rest, what does that stands for?

Onge, i though i have a white color in the first channle:

1 0~127 Master Dimmer, 0100%
128~250 Strobe, slow to fast
251~255 RGB ON (white)

See 251~255 is white, so i put that in the color channel, and it got only one color. i don't know if that is the right thing to do.

thank you, again. you are the reason why people like me will keep trying!!!

OK i got the scanlibrary editor, and got the first ssl file done as attached.

then i added it to visualizer, as well as the freestyler. but they wont light up. i can see the color bar at the top of each icon in the freestyler does respond, but there is nothing in the visualizer. i hit the lamp on, and shutter buttons, but won't work.

and how come the third par light is showing a different color on its top, while all 4 are selected???

and what is the difference between dimmer, and shutter? my lights never had a channel named shutter on their dmx channel table. they do have a master dimmer channel. is this master dimmer also a shutter channel:

CH1: 0 no lights, 1~255 master dimmer.

how does that affect fixture settings both in visualizer and freestyler?

Onge, you are a legend. It works!! thanks heaps!

Now I have just get my first light work, and I am again full of hope again. Many other lights to work on.

Just a quick question, you attached a Pff file. Is that for freestyler, but I see in freestyler's fixture folder they are all fxt. What is pff for?

thank you, Alan

The pff file is like a zip or rar file. it contains the fxt file, and the images/figures the fxt file uses. execute the pff file and it will extract in the fixture folder automatically.
Onge wrote:A dimmer is an electronic fade of the lights, usually by reducing the voltage to make the lights "dim" but not always done like that especially wilth LEDs the dimming function is handled differently but in principle they perform the same function.
is that 100% Right (just half the answer)? as far as i know a dimmer is also be mechanical for scanners and movingheads. if you have, lets say a discharge bulb in your moving head, it is blades which will move in front of the bulb to dimmer it, and not reduce the voltage. I don't know if it is the same blades which will act like shutters?

anyway, I tried the ssl file Onge made in magic 3D and discovered that you cant dimmer the PAR can. is that because you have the dimmer and shutter on the same channel? i tried to make the ssl-file by myself but when adding the shutter presets i couldn't get the PAR can to light up in magic 3D. Is it magic 3d which have some limitation regarding this issue?

Hi guys, thanks for your reply.

I got one more questons. some of my led lights has Macros in one of its channel. for example this one below:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Channel No. DMX Value Description
1 0~255 Master Dimmer
Must be on for CH2,3,4 and 5 to work
2 0~255 Red Dimmer
CH1 must be on
3 0~255 Green Dimmer
CH1 must be on
4 0~255 Blue Dimmer
CH1 must be on
5 0~255 Master Strobe
Ch1 and at least one of CH2,3 and 4 should be on to work
6 0~70 Color Macro
71~255 RGB Fast Color Changing.
Changing speed will increase as dmx value increases
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This one got macro colors in Ch6, 0-70, they each occupy 10 values from 0. How do I set the Macro in the Fxiture Creator of Freestyler?
In this tab below, i can't see how i cant set a red color to 0~10 of Channel 6 for example.
and If I tick the "1stcolorch" box, it will show a "colorwheel" tab, which i think is for moving heads only?

THANK YOU SO MUCH ONGE FOR YOUR DETAILED REPLY!

I THINK I SHOULD HAVE NO MAJOR PROBLEM WITH A NORMAL LED LIGHT. I WILL WORK ON MY LASERS AND MOVING HEADS SOON!
