Two Separate PC's?

Hi guys,

Got a gig coming up - is it possible to run Freestyler and the visualiser on a seperate PC?

I have a PC I want to run just the visualiser on and then a laptop to run Freestyler on.

The reason for this is that the laptop can output to 2 screens (including it's internal one), so I plan to have freestyler on here using two screens, and then the second PC can only output to one screen so run the visualiser on that. The other option is to run everything off the desktop PC and then use some monitor extender over ethernet software so that it sees 3 screens, even though it outputs to one over VGA, but I think this may be a little jumpy if I run the vis on a separate screen.

So basically - can I run freestyler and the vis on separate machines but still have FS control the vis?

Could use either the inbuilt vis of WYSIWYG.

Cheers!!

Try to look at this topic: Using Artnet to use other Visualisers

its even Tom who started that topic, and you have the answer right there :!:

if you do what spotlight suggested, just connect the two computers in stead of using one and a loopback connector, i think that would work

It does infact work using the method detailed in the other thread :)
