Auto Recovery

If freestyler crashes etc mid way through something chances are your lights will be playing back the last dmx settings sent to them this means they could still be moving or lit up, well at a place I've been before all the house lights are connected to dmx so when its say 8pm the bar lights will get darker for the effects lights to take over now if that pc crashes the lights still remain on untill the pc reboots and because nothings set all the dmx values are 0 meaning a blackout in a busy bar....

I think FS should remember the last cue that was playing (an option in the settings for this feature) so if you computer goes to hell you can reboot load fs and instead of a total blackout or return to positions etc etc it will carry on playing from where it left off... leaving you time to put windows back etc and not fumble around with getting cue windows open etc etc....

as I know it is interfaces with cpu which send DMX only after freestlyer is closed or crashed. I have some lights which black out if they not get DMX signal for a certain time (max 30 seconds). I'm just glad I have a enttec USB DMX PRO interface which keep sending the last dmx values it has received :). but I have problems with freestyler startup values which is 0 on all channels, and then blackout my lights. you can change that manually in Freestyler though, but people will notice that the moving lights suddenly change position colors and gobos. so a feature like the one DJ Support sugests would be nice.

For as long as this feature is'nt there in FS, you could disconnect the DMX cable _before_ starting FreeStyler.
It depends on the lights if they stay on, go off or go into demo mode (Showtec LED bars do that...).
Counting on that lights stay in their same state (which may vary, as said), meanwhile you can start FreeStyler and select the proper cue's and then reconnect the DMX cable. From there everything goes normal.

But, is'nt it better to find out why the crash occurs and solve that?

Not exactly what your looking for.

Make a desired manual look in freestyler when it fisrt starts. right click on the "desktop" and save as startup values. No more blackout.

Like Mattotone says, you can define startup values, this way your lights won't blackout.
I the next version default values can be defined from within the fixture profile.
