Dear,

Now I'm jusing freestyler 2.96j at Vista Home Premium 32-bit, this works perfectly.
I wanna get over to Vista Business 64-bit. Is it a problem to install freestyler at a Vista 64-bit version, without any errors?
Hopely works it, anyone experience with it?

Yours faithfully,

Ramon

I have 3.01 running on Vista64 ultimate with no problems so far. Even the visualiser is behaving. :fs:

Done nothing special other than install everything so I'm either lucky or everything is fine with Vista. If worst comes to worst, I can't see any problems with running Freestyler on a Virtual PC within Vista.

Thanks for the help! :D

At any site I saw this for the Velleman USB controlled DMX interface:
Q: Will the USB CONTROLLED DMX INTERFACE work with windows Vista?
A: The software was developed pre-Vista. However, it should run in "XP compatibility mode". It will not run on the Vista Ultimate (64 bit version).
But on the Velleman site, I see this:
Specifications
* Windows 98SE or higher compatible
I shall mail to Velleman, and ask of the interface is compatible with Windows Vista 64 bit.
Excuse me when I miss typed me, I'm Dutch

I am also running FS 3.0.1 on 64-bit Vista with no problems. The only thing is to note that Vista's UAC (User Account Control) setting affects where your data is located. (UAC is turned on or off through Vista's Control Panel, and in my installation it was default ON.)

When UAC is "on", your user data files and settings will be located at:
C:\Users\(Your Name)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\FreeStyler\

When UAC is "off", FreeStyler data files will be located in this directory (shared by all users):
C:\Program Files (x86)\FreeStyler\

DJ Support has earlier found that knowing whether UAC is "on" or "off" is important because it affects which files you need to alter when customizing FreeStyler; for example, to increase the number of scenes. Also information such as your Cues, Locations and Fixtures library will be actively stored in and used from in either location, depending on the status of your UAC in Vista.

I could not get FS 3.0.1 to run on my Vista 64. For those of you who have run it on Virtual PC, how do you deal with the fact that Virtual PC does not support USB??? Am I missing something? Virtual PC won't even print to my USB printer that works fine is Vista 64.
