Freestyler: chase blackout, then "home scene"

I currently use an Elation Show Designer 2 for controlling band lights. ....pars, scanners, pinspots.
At the end of a song, I push and hold "black" button on the board. This causes the chase to stop, the stage goes, black, then a "home" scene that I have pre-programmed comes up (front ambers on lead singer after 3 second delay - slow fade). It works well.

I spent the bigger part of last Sat with Freestyler and my light rig in the garage programming scenes, chases, etc. I've basically replicated what I need using FS

Howver, I'd really like to replicate (in FS) the "home" scene / blackout functionality that I've come to rely on from Elation SD2.

Any thoughts? If I can get this going,I'll be picking up a midi pedal to get this going live.

Thanks.

If you look at the top of Freestyler controls, there is a "Star" This is what you are asking for. Open Freestyler and make the lights look the way you want them to look when you hit the button, then under the "edit" menu there is a "Save as Favorite" option.

Hope that helps

this is a great feature to add...
I constantly find my self hitting blackout and then the favorite key followed by blackout.
Im not sure why this has never come into mind.

I don't understand the difficulty. Can't you just make a scene that blacks everything out on step 1(3sec scene time) then set step 2 to fade in the only lights you want while leaving everything else OFF? Select for that scene not to repeat and you are done. What am I missing?

Its missing the override facility.
Usually whilst in blackout then favorite.

i would be setting up for the next scene using three or four sub masters, for scans led's and movers. Dmx400 for par cans.

I think I get it now, you want to be able to change things around in blackout mode while one light ignores blackout.

Here is a solution!
Make an override button that blacks everything except the one light you want on, make it include all fixtures! Switch things around the way you want with the submasters, then release the override.

I know what you guys want and that would be a cool feature, I am just seeing if I can create the same effect without Raph having to change software code.

Its already possible using the favorite button, what we would like is a button that totally blackouts and then fades/snaps to the desired level. (my scene is two par cans light up front man and a blue wash)
It can be achieved by pressing blackout and then favorite. But a fade would be nice, and it can be quite difficult as there are a million other things i have to do. Kill effects, switch on mics for other band members, set new effects, open / close unused mic channels for next song etc. and set up lighting for next scene.

Yep, a lot can go on while in the "home" and while lead vox is running his or her mouth about drink specials, the next song, or the newest joke on the street! Haha!

I'm trying to determine if/how to run FS in sound active mode (various chases based on song), then be able to kill the chase and bring up "home scene" with one key press/foot switch/midi control/etc.

Sorry for jumping back in late to the discussion.
