Monitor and Sound Card

My lcd screen went out 
... so now im stuck with this big crt monitor...anyways the problem is when i connect the cord that connects the monitor to the computer, it lowers the volume of the soundcard greatly! when i take the cord off the computer it goes back to normal. I didnt have this problem when i had my lcd screen?? PLESE HELP
