Hi Everyone.
Is there a way to have a bunch of scanners move in a complete random pattern? (So each of them does not have the same movement)
Thanks!

Run them all as stand alone. No communications cables or controll. Most fixtures will have a 'Stand Alone' feature.
I dont think that FS has a feature that will make your scans work in a random fashion from each other but you can use the sound window to create random patterns
but all you scans will do the same thing.
What scans do you have ? and why do you want to do this ?

Well, as an exemple, I have scans hanging over a crowd and I want to use scans as "search lights". So beams that would move randomly on the crowd...

The best i could come up with is make a cue with the scanners in seemingly random positions (the more the better) then set up play back as random. All though the positions are preset. how they arrive to them or which position they go next will be random.

an another alternative is to use the cuelist buttons, if you dont have other cues/lights to run when you want the "search" mode
1) make a individual sequence for each scanner with different movements/positions and step/fade time
2) add them to the cue window, (if you like you can click on the random buttons to make it more randomly)
3) save the cue and add it to a cuelist button
now when you click on the cuelist button all your scan will move randomly with different speed and there for change positions asynchronous.
to have randomly positions you can try to set the fade for each step in your sequences to be less than the speed time.
this is only something i just made up and haven't tried it by myself, let us know if it works
