DJ Support :

cantyco :

just wondering if this is working on vista yet?

I'm about to start looking for a new computer to run freestlyer on, and wondering if to move to vista or not?

Thanks
Tim

matt :

Yes the software will run on Windows Vista. Make sure you are using the latest copy of FreeStyler.
I know this from discussions with Ralph.

cantyco :

thanks for the responce.

I'll give this a go when my laptop turns up next week.

mp3jrick :

Ahead of ourselves?
I came here for the same question.

If you're not looking ahead you're living in the past!

All the reports I am hearing on Vista are positive, particularly with music video.
Just ordered an OS to update/toss my XP and a new Vaio with Vista.

It's not like we have a choice anymore.
MOST new systems are running Vista.

Good to read that Raph is on it.

DJ Support :

im getting a free upgrade but im not going to upgrade it when my disk comes im gunna wait untill i know everythings going to work!

DigitalPimp :

Ive actually been running Free Styler on a Windows Vista Tablet PC for a little over a month now. I use it in a Live Inviroment at a night club. We use 26 Fixtures, 4 Dimmer Packs, 2 Moveing Head Lasers. and 4 DMX Fog Machines. The only problems I have seen so far is a slight problem with Sound to Light, which I fixed by reinstalling my Sound Drivers, and then the Art-Net does not seem to work at all. All other features seem to be working just great.

DJ Digital :

I haven't had chance to run my new system with vista on in a live enviroment yet, but have had it running in a test one quite happily with no errors etc...

jaykie :

Freestyler runs perfect on vista, my DMX-4-ALL mini-usb though... Considering to go dualboot....

The Overall consensus is Vista will handle Freestyler if theres any problems post it here this is an old topic and no one has told us of any problems other than the ones above^ It's suggested if you have a vista operating system to download the latest BETA rather than the pre-vista Release on freestylerdmx.be

Looks like i never confirmed this like i said it would but, every feature i have tried in freestyler works just the same as it does on windows xp.

I have been using it on vista for the last 4 months ish without a problem :D

1. Sorry for my bad english. I'll do my best.

2. The Question.
Does Magic 3D Easy View always work under Windows Vista if its controlled by Freestyler?

I would STRONGLY suggest still using XP for your shows. Only because the reliability of vista has not been fully tested yet....

From what i've seen from working freestyler on vista:

As long as you thoroughly test the shows over and over again in vista then i've been succesfully running shows live with fresstyler on visa for about 6 months/8 Months.

But going somewhere with an untested setup is asking for trouble.
