People have managed to get Fs working on the mac through VM and emulation.

I have the new mac pro ver 10.9.1. I have been struggling with getting the freestyler to recognize the gus dmx using vmware fusion. I was getting the same error in the prior post failed to open port. I solved the issue by using the usb port on my thunderbolt screen. That led me to use a usb hub I have connecting it to the usb on the laptop and it worked. For some reason the usb on the laptop straight through is not working I am not sure why. Well in case some one is having the same issue...

2012 Mac book pro SSD and 8 Gig's of RAM boot camped win 7. Just ran roughly 125 stage lights, pars, washes, foot bars and moving heads flawlessly for 3 days 4 shows. Only 2 issues, Posted a bug with fixtures displaying over the channel control window, 2nd is there a way around for the magic 3d direct x9 error?

Conty. There is no Mac version of Freestyler. Please review the entries in this thread. You will see everyone is using Windows via a virtual machine.

Buying a mac and installing windows is like using a diesel ferrari.
If you want stability you don't need a Mac, you need to know how to configure Windows.
I only buy used high-end pro books at a low price, and I've never crashed either with Freestyler or even with Traktror.
