Expanding joystick possibilities

Post by Jaykie »

This is from the old forum

Is it possible to expand the possibilities of the joystick, currently only the Y and X axis are used for pan and tilt. On the internet is a lot of information to create your own joystick (or a interface with faders and buttons), so it should be nice to use this with Freestyler. By this way is easy to create a own interface panel to control Freestyler. Assign a axis to a functions as speed, intensity (of a group maybe), smoke level, direct to a DMX channel, etc.

I’ve found a interface with the capabilities of 8 analogue axis and 32 buttons (including hat switch)

I think that it is possible to create nice control interface’s with this controller.

If you are going to build your own fader hardware,
use the above tool, and then turn that joystick into an MIDI device:

With MIDI you can control every facet of Freestyler. :-)
