Can the Chauvet DMX-3F be used with non-Chauvet fog machines

Can the Chauvet DMX-3F be used with non-Chauvet fog machines?

I got a DMX-3F to use with an Elliminator lighting E-119. when i press the manual fog button in Freestyler the red led on the DMX-3F gets brighter then dims when i release the manual fog button. but no fog comes out. i'm guessing that the DMX-3F is getting the dmx signal becaue of the led bright/dim. so what is the problem? is there something special about chauvet fogger remotes? are the remote pinouts different?

could be (your pinout) or your fogger is broke, Blocked (or could be possible its empty ) try putting a sewing needle in the output hole (make sure its stone cold first!!!) then try again it

The fog machine works fine when i used the wired remote that came with it.

thanks for the unclogging tip. i'll have to remember that if it does get clogged up.

hmm posiblly polarity then... make a cable that switches it over as it will always come in handy anyway!

also make sure you are sending the right value 255 to the right channel. You could only be sending 1 to it and its not the right intensity..
