Basic MIDI Control

Post by gvrnmtwrng »

i'm sorry if this has been covered, i searched but did not find it.
I'm using a windows 10 machine, Ardour as my DAW, and FS 4.1.7.
I'm in a cover band and looking to sync lights to the click tracks.
i figured out how to connect the DAW MIDI track to FS via LoopBe1.
LoopBe1 s the input and i assigned no output.
got it to learn B3 #59 CH3 Vel 127 to note for "Next Scene" in setup.

I'm starting simple to learn how it all works, so i'm only using 1 LED Par for the moment.
I set up 2 sequences, red and green, and each is only shutter open and the corresponding color. nothing but basic wash.
this gave me 2 .chs files, one red one green.
i can add those to the cue list and clicking the play button will give the desired color.
where i'm getting lost is how to get the midi note assigned to "next scene" to go to the next scene on the cue list.

Am i looking at this the wrong way?
for simplicity, my CURRENT goal is to have different MIDI notes to trigger certain scenes.
for example, B3 will always trigger the red light and C4 trigger the green light.

any and all help will be most appreciated
