Relay activated overide?
I want to have my lights set running a select pattern normally, but I have a relay that closes on an external piece of equipment that I would like to activate an alternate pattern while the relay is closed. What would be the best way to interface the relay with freestyler? Thanks for the help.

Really not understanding your problem. What is this relay you speak of? Is it DMX? If the device is DMX then you can make a button to activate and deactivate

Re: Relay activated overide?
The equipment is not related to lighting but when the equioment is in a certain state it will turn on a 110v output that can be used to turn on say a regular lamp. I would instead like to have it turn on a relay which would then close activating an override in freestyler.

You would either have to have a DMX dimmer/switch pack to operate the relay or the relay itself must be dmx. Freestyler is DMX lighting software that is not designed to run other products except with the above option.

If the machine has midi output then you can set it up to control freestyler

Re: Relay activated overide?
Some usb dongles accept DMX in but won't do both at the same time so with two boxes if your relay sends out a dmx signal it can control FreeStyler which will then send out dmx from the other box!
