Midi Controler problem [SOLVED]
Hi,
I have one faders Korg nanoKontrol. I wanted more faders, so bought next Korg nanoKontrol. Now I have 2 Korg nanoKontrols and I have problem. System Windows see that as 2 different physical devices, so I can't use 2 Korg's at the same time - because FreeStyler can't control more than 1 Midi Control. Is it possible to control two Midi devices at the same time ?

Re: Midi Controler problem
MIDIOX could be the answer of your problem
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2043&p=9378&hilit=midiox#p9378
the two nano kontrol might send out same notes, you have to change that in MIDIOX as well

Okej, thanks. I download MidiOX and MidiYoke, instal it and try
Korg nanoKontrol have 4 page fadres, so I can have 4 Korg, but FreeStyler can control with 1 Midi Controler

Re: Midi Controler problem
I use FS with two separate and different kind of midi controllers at the same time. You have to find a way to run the second controller "thru" the first. Both controllers have to output on the same midi channel. I don't know anything about the Nano controller, but it seems like someone at Korg's support should be able to help you figure this out.bombel wrote:......... but FreeStyler can control with 1 Midi Controler
I'll explain my setup to help understand how mine works. I have an Akai MPD16 and a Behringer FCB-1010. The Akai midi output is connected to the FCB1010 midi input (thru) and the FCB1010 midi output is connected to my M-Audio midi/usb interface. Both controllers are set to output on midi channel 1. In FS, I select the M-Audio as my midi controller.
So in your situation, you will need something that will receive the midi info from both controllers and route it as one midi input to FS. Maybe someone can comment on how to setup MidiOX and MidiYoke, as I don't use that either. I hope this helped some.

Re: Midi Controler problem
Thansk Shannon D for Your post. Korgs are in USB, they haven't Thru Midi etc. Korg have page witch change faders chanel, so the signal is different.
MidiOX controlled only 16 chanels. I must try Virtual Controller Midi.

I don't know how midiox handles the same note from different channels/controllers, when mapping to one channel. maybe you have to map this manually by using the midi data mapping feature in MIDIOX.
I have never tried it my self so please, give some feedback

Re: Midi Controler problem
Hi Guys,
I do the same thing, but with a korg nanokontrol and glovepie (running off a wiimote and outputting to midi-yoke 1)
So I use midi-ox and have two inputs, one is the nanokontrol and one is Midiyoke 1.
I then have an output in midi-ox of midiyoke 2.
In freestyler, I listen to midiyoke 2. So I can therefore control things with both the wiimote and the nanokontrol.
Does that make sense?
Ben

nice. how does midiox handle the same notes from the two controllers? does it give them different notes on the output to midyoke 2 automatically?bckeeping wrote:Hi Guys,

Re: Midi Controler problem [SOLVED]
Hi guys,
It basically merges the data. So the note/velocity data from each device will have the same effect in freestyler itself. They are not split by channel or note, but by time. I.e. you wouldnt use the same control on two devices at precicely the same time.
Given that midi note/velocity data is only sent when a fader is moved or an action taken in glovepie, I would assume that it is basically latest takes priority. I.e. if I move the nanokontrol fader to 80% then submaster 1 goes to 80% and stays there. If I then press a button on the Wiimote with it turned to the 20% position, the submaster will jump to 20%.
I suppose that would mean that if you used the same control on both methods both at once, the fader would continously jump between the 80% and 20% positions and would settle on whichever you used last.
For some of the controls I only have them mapped to one or other controller, but for others they can be controlled from either.
Does that make some sense?
