Limiting Movement on Moving Head Fixtures?

Post by jokerswild »

I have a set of moving head fixtures that I want to limit their movement to just the front of the fixture. I understand how to set limits in the fixture profile however these limits aren't exactly what I have in mind.

I mount my heads, Chauvet MinSpots, on a T-bar hung with the head down. So all I want is forward movements so that the light doesn't rotate more than 270 Left to Right, and 180 Up to Down, with down being nearly straight down. How do I do this?

Looks like that would work if I create cues for movements.... what I was hopeing for was a general setting that even on sound active would limit the movements to the forward side....

I limit the movement in the fixture itself, not the software. This is using Q-Spot 260's. The nice thing is that I can program as normal in FS, and the heads will adjust based on the limits I set on them. If I change the limits - I don't have to change the programming.
