Colour Organ Plugin

Post by lhunter17 »

OK, basically I saw a video of a colour organ (different lights light up different amounts for separate frequencies like in this video) and wandered if this would be possible to do with FS. I can't think of a way to do this at the moment and then thought of using a plug-in or standalone program like S2L. Unfortunately i don't know anything about programming or where to begin with creating something like this.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for this??
Initially I am thinking having three channels (user defined) each related to one of High Mid and Low frequency audio taken from the computers input device. the volume(??) could then be used to set level for specified channel.

Feel free to tell me this is completely unfeasible, but any help would be much appreciated.

Setup:
SOH USB-DMX512 module
Samsung N102 Netbook
FS 3.4.8

its certainly feasible, but i usually hate the effect light organs produce, they lack the structured show i look for.
Have a look at the c# examples to talk to freestyler. I haven't played with sound detection but its certainly possible. Is it worth the effort? im not sure. Id rather build some good sequences and then use the S2L program to sync with music.
