Hello,
I am putting together the light show for our band. We started with some simple LED spots and two LED bars controlled by an Obey 40, and that was fine. We just acquired 3 ADJ Deluxe Scan 250s and 3 ADJ DJ Spot 250s from a club that went out of business so I am thinking we should probably upgrade our ability to control this system.
Freestyler with the Enttec Pro is less expensive ($150) than MyDMX ($240) but otherwise they seem to have similar features. From what I can tell there is no Freestyler fixture file for the Deluxe Scan 250 so I would have to make that but that seems doable. I assume that MyDMX will have fixture files for their own fixtures.
I would welcome any advice on how to proceed and the merits of these two options.
Thanks,
Doug

Re: MyDMX vs Freestyler
I do not know the MyDMX software so I will not give you any suggestion what to buy. But for me MyDMX looks more like faders simulated on the computer. But I do not realy know what you can do with this pice of software. Try to play around a little with FreeStyler and - if you can get a demo version of MyDMX try it out also. Then you can see what you can do with wich programm.
You may also look at the FreeStyler Community & Developments Discussion-Forum and the Wiki to see what addons are avaible for FreeStyler. In the Wiki there is also a section where you can see how to create a fixture file. It is not realy that complicated it may sound

Don't know MyDMX either.
But I do know you can download FreeStyler already, start it up and run it in virtual mode (yep, without a real DMX interface connected). If you installed 3d easyview with it (asked during setup), then you'll be able to see what you do, on screen.
