Load error
I'm receiving a error on freestyler.
I have an enttec pro and have all the drivers installed and was able to move around my moving head with the enttec testing program. When I launch freestyler I get the error cannot load output or something like that. I matched the com ports by going into my driver settings and ect. Do you have any fixes? Restarted my computer multiple times and closed the entttec test program and everything else exept freestyler. And I'm still having this issue.
Help me lol
Thanks

Re: Load error
is it the "error creating output thread" message you get?
try to read this and see if that helps.
Freestyler Wiki: "When I start up Freestyler, I get the message "Error creating output thread" and I can't control my lights"

If you want any help regarding some error, its really important to post the exact error. Not just a 'something like that'.

Re: Load error
Yes that was the error im recieving and I cannot control my lights.
I did look at that wiki and I found that ALL my com ports are in use up intil 16. 1 and 2 are free. Freestyler stops at 15, and i tried manually typing it in and I think it didnt work. I tried multiple usb ports, upgrading the firmware and everything. Do i have to disconnect the interface after i make the changes? Have any little tips that I did not try to do? THere is a pro ultinity that i downloaded, and that seems to be working fine and i even was able to move lights around with the DMX SEND testing thing. I also purchased a joystick to move lights around with
.. Hopefully I can get this working. IM using Windows Vista Home Premium. I can downgrade to Windows XP Home edition if that is nessessary. Hopefully not though, i like vista lol.
THanks.

Re: Load error
if com port 1 and 2 are free, change the com port for the interface to one of those. follow the description on the wiki page. the description is for XP but it's the same procedure for Vista.mattjake4 wrote:I did look at that wiki and I found that ALL my com ports are in use up intil 16. 1 and 2 are free.

I did this with the ports and I'm still encountering this problem. Suggestions?

Re: Load error
Have you installed a Bluetooth adaptor program ? as I am pretty sure I have seen these gobble up all the com ports.
Get the latest drivers from the Enttec website.
Disconnect the interface and run the download.
Connect the interface and should go through found new hardware (if drivers the same then might not do that).
Keep the interface connected and in Device Manager find com port 6 or whichever one you want to use. Not 1, 2, 3 or 4. right click it and select uninstall.
Now it should rediscover the interface again and install correct driver.

Re: Load error
I'm confused. I shouldn't use com ports 1 2 or 3? The rest see all being used. I can do like com port 20 but freestyler only goes up to 15. And I'm uninstalling the drivers for what the com port or the enttec pro? Thanks

Re: Load error
The reason I say do not use com ports 1, 2, 3 or 4 is that they are normally already taken by teh system or reserved for the system even if they are free, that is how they all ways used to be on PCs, maybe not so much now with modern day computers.mattjake4 wrote:I'm confused. Ensure interface is connected, then in Device Manager find a com port that you want to use say COM 6, right click it and select un-install. It will un-install whatever drivers are attached to it and then re-install correct drivers. Just follow my instructions above.
You can un-install all of the other com ports as well, if you have nothing using them, but ensure you DO NOT have the interface connected when un-installing the rest of the com ports.

As for the light ask in the correct forum, supply us with details of the fixture, i.e. a manual with the DMX values, then someone might be able to help, without the information you will struggle to get any response.
This is from the website you mentioned.
DMX 512 (7) channels CH 1-7 Strobe, Dimmer, Chase, Red, Green, Blue, Speed. Channels 2, 4,5,& 6 work from the top down.
Whatever "work from the top down" means ?????? Possibly inverse, i.e. fader at bottom equals 255, fader at top equals 0

Create a 7 channel fixture, and put those functions in the correct places i.e. Strobe channel 1, Dimmer (intensity) channel 2, RGB on channels 4, 5 & 6. Put channels 3 & 7 where you like. That should then enable you to program the light within FreeStyler.
