Hopefully you can steer me in the right direction. I am running version3.5.2 midiox is downloaded and seeing midi info from bcf how do I configure freestyler I have tried input as bcf and as midi yoke 1 Freestyler responds when I'm in midi edit mode user setup. If I push a button or fader it shows up. Once I save that it won't respond I'm the program to the midi functions is there a step I'm missing?

Sorry was half asleep when I started the message. I have gone thoroughly the wiki step by step. I understand there is really no need for midiox and midi yoke cause I am only using one interface. I started using it cause I could not get anything to work. It does show in the monitor windows of midiox that I am outputting from the bcf. Freestyler is seeing it too. It does not ever show in the monitor window of midiox that the computer is sending anything back to the bcf So this must be a configuration problem. After I input what I want each button and slider to do is there another step one that I am missing. Do you have to teach the buttons on the bcf? Sorry first attempt at midi in general so bear with me Thanks for the help

ahhh oke thanks for the info..
but I'm not realy sure what the issue can be.
but here some tips/question:

1. the BCF should be on BC MODE (can be found on the wiki)
2. how are the midi buttons/sliders mapped
3. besure you send CC# notes. can be monitored on Midiox, look for STATUS = 176 to 191 for DEC and B0 to BF for HEX
4. set midi INPUT AND OUPUT on BCF2000
5. if you press/drag a button/slider does fs react on it?

more I cant ask I think

ok ill try to reply to each in hopes to get this right :)

the bcf is in bc mode and u-1
no mapping not sure what that is
midiox shows the sliders are outputing cc buttons above sliders in cc status is b0-b7 depending on slider or button data line is 00 in the output window it says port 2 input shows no port

in freestyler it shows that i am doing things cause the velocity changes but all the buttons are note 0 and sliders are note 7

i bought the bcf used does it need to be factory restored maybe?

ahhh yes ;)
that's how the buttons / faders are mapped.
i'm not realy sure but I also have issue fs doesn't ouput correct on other Midi channels ( B0 to BF)
but FS works Perfect if everything is mapped on Channel 1 (B0)

but I recommend to upload this SysEx file to your BCF:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2189
you can also use the FMS (Freestyler Midi Settings) on that page only its made if you use Submasters..
but the SySeX file wil work for the BCF because all the buttons and sliders and encoders are MAPPED ;) on channel 1...and they all have there own Note

never seen PC as Event...

if you like to edit button sliders or encoder I recommend to download the program BCMANAGER
http://home.kpn.nl/f2hmjvandenberg281/bcman.html

this is the only program that can Send Sysex file to different presets on the BCF.
BC_EDIT from behringer works realy crappy...

Thank you so much I have been scrambling to figure this out your a life saver. So I could potentially make two presets one for show use and one for ease of programming fixtures

yes indeed but I recommend to use the PAGE feature from freestyler..
because this will also update the fader, led and ledring correctly.. ;)
just keep it on 1 Preset

just a tip, DONT use preset 0 because this preset will not be saved on the bcf if you unplug the power...

FS only responds to midi commands (buttons) that are a 'full strength' value of 127. You will need to program the midi controller to output this value when you hit a button. The software above will probably help you do this.

When entering midi vales into FS hit start, hit edit, push the midi button (should see the value appears) then hit edit again when finished...do not hit stop!
