Need help with 11 channel American DJ Mega Bar

Post by blaide13 »

I followed the tutorial that is on Wiki to create and patch the American DJ Mega Bar Fixture profiles, but when I get to the final step and have the 3 light segments and 1 control segment on the desktop, it only allows me to control the entire light and not the individual segments. I followed the tutorial to the letter. I created the fixture file from scratch according to the tutrial and when that didn't work, I then tried downloading the fixture files off of the fixture files section of the forum, but got the same results.

I have created multiple fixture files for several different lights, but this is my first LED bart that has 3 seperate sections within the one unit. I also want to use the color wheel to pick colors for each segment, but when I open the available screens, the color whell only responds on the first 3 channel section. If I choose the second or third 3 channel section by themselves, the light does nothing. If I select all 4 sections, I can only control the entire light and not the thee sections individually. Fixture creator does not offer 9 color channels as far as I can see, so I can't evben program a ficxture file as a straight 11 channel profile. I am at a loss at this point and could use some assistance. Has anyone out there gotten their American DJ Mega Bar set up where they can controll the three sections individually?

I made 6 fixture files for my Eurolite LED bar 324/10 a couple of years ago and i could control each segment per fixture in FS. so it should be possible... you are sure you have setup the addresses in FS and on the Mega bar itself so they match?

yes, at least I think so. I followed the tutorial instructions to the letter. hen choosing add/remove fixtures, I firat selected the 3 chnnel Mega Bar fixture profile and when adding to the Freestyler desktop, I set the # of fixtures to 3 and checked Auto address. Then when adding the control portion of the fixture, I assigned the starting address to match the first 3 channel fixture just as the tutorial stated.
