Pic of 3 x BCF2000 This is used until I / We find a better one.

FreeStyler can handle 1 midi channel with 127+0 notes.

These notes are used to interconnect hw. Faders, encoders and buttons to FreeStyler commands.

The hw. comes in many shapes and complexities and in this example BCF2000 is chosen because it has some motorized faders that makes a nice way for FreeStyler to update the fader positions when these are changed by other interfaces.

Here you see a other Patch example.

you see that the Encoder pages and Encoder buttons are not Used.

and you have 2 Note left, Note126 and Note 127

Here you can download the .SYX file so you can upload it to your BCF2000:

okay, I got it working like this:

	* when I press “button 1” on my nanokontrol, I can control seq speed 1-5 on encoder 1-5 and submaster 1-5 on fader and the two buttons on 1-5
	* when I press “button 2” on my nanokontrol, I can control seq speed 6-10 on encoder 1-5 and submaster 1-5 on fader and the two buttons on 1-5

In the MIDI example bellow BCF2000 has been used but it should still give a idea of how to use the MIDI interface.

What is MIDI

MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface.

As the name implies “Musical Instrument” was created for and originally used for playing music.

a .Syx file is a Patch file that contance all the Note's configuration To the Faders, Buttons and Encoders.

You can create a Syx File with Bc_Edit, Save it and upload it to your bcf With Midi ox because BC_Edit gives a Error message if you try tp upload the syx file woth BC_edit. (If yo use a BFC)

What is Midi.
MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface Musical Instrument Digital Interface.

When more Midi devices are to be used there may be the problem that they don’t have extra midi inputs and outputs to interconnect with.

If the midi devices has an additional usb interface then this can be used to combine more devices with using a software tool / driver as Midiox.

This Launchpad is nice simple way to get a physical button to press as alternative to the screen button’s.

In this page it is used to access the override buttons so the user don’t need to navigate on a crowded screen and struggling with the mouse to get timing correct.

Using Behringer BCF2000

On this page I will discuss the use of Behringer BCF2000 midi controler with FS.

Videos and tutorials with BCF2000 and FreeStyler - Youtube (German)

This device is probably the most cost effective and versatile bit of kit that any FS user could invest in.
This is not meant as free advertising or endorsement for the product, but as it is such a popular device I believe that its inclusion on the wiki is an important one.
