How to start working with the BCF2000 [SOLVED]

Post by studijo »

Hi,

I really spend already hours and hours to get the BCF2000 working with FS.

How does it work with your experience.

I tried the Wiki tutorial (activate the BC mode, set U-1 mode) and the BCF2000 is recognized in FS but I'm not able to change things in setup -> Freestyler setup -> Midi Control -> Press 'Edit', select a function and then push a button or a slider on the BCB but nothing happens.

I searched on this Forum and find a post 'This is how I configured my BCF2000'. I downloaded some files, spend hours to learn a program 'BC Manager' needed to upload a file but without any result. It seems this post is outdated....

Which method are you using?

I hope to find someone who can push me in the right direction!

THANKS in ADVANCE !!!

I believe there are issues with midi at the moment. I'm not sure what it's actually effecting as I don't use it, but from most people on the forum they've had trouble as well.

Re: How to start working with the BCF2000 SOLVED

I finally find a solution. I don't know if this is the solution for you but I want to share what I did:

1. Set the BCF2000 in BC Mode as described in http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/e ... ng_bcf2000

2. Set the BCF2000 in USB Mode in (see the same page from the Wiki)

3. Download the file 'Freestyler.syx' again from the Wiki page:
Image

4. Download MIDIOX - http://www.midiox.com (only available for Windows)

5. Upload the Freestyler.syx file with MIDIOX
- Options -> Midi Devices
- Select your BCF2000 from the Midi inputs list and confirm by OK
- Select your BCF2000 from the Midi outputs list and confirm by OK (Not sure this is needed but I did it)
- View -> Sysex
- Command Window -> Load file
- Finally when the file is loaded: Command Window -> Send Sysex

6. Now you're ready to link Freestyler functions with knobs and sliders as described here: http://www.freestylersupport.com/wiki/e ... w_to_setup

Succes !!!
