Mod a wash M.Head to Spot

Post by nightrider666 »

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to turn a wash moving head like these:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/162-LED-Movi ... 312&_uhb=1

into a spot light? I've got 8 but dont really need that many wash lights. So I was thinking of folding a piece of metal so it slotted on the light like a cap, but then I don't know how to make/acquire the lens to make it focus the light

Thanks

You could try making little barn doors for the sides so it narrows the beam.

This is what I mean

You could make the metal sides and attach them, them move them depending on how much beam angle you want.

Hope that helps

As already stated this is not possible.
Also that is one UGLY looking fixture.
Lastly, just as a point - Barn Doors do nothing for LED products really. Before you argue the point, don't bother its proven that they will narrow the beam a bit but in no way do they work as they would on a tradition halogen type fixture. So not a great idea

Oh right, I didn't know that. But thanks for clearing it up because I'm thinking of investing in LED products and some had barn doors on them.

Yeah...you would need some specialised optics (lenses) to make a wash into a spot.

Many LED parcan manufacturers include barn doors because of the cosmetic 'theatre' look it gives them.
Some people like that. I throw mine away!
