Use Gaffer Tape to Secure Power Cords down to the Floor. Do not use Duct Tape!

Some types of 'Cloth Tape' are also know as Gaffer, Gaffa, Duct, Duck, rig tape, ez-rip etc.

Depends who its made by or where you buy it as to what its called.

You cant just say 'Dont use Duct Tape'. Its an inacurrate statment.

My rule of thumb is to NEVER use any tape that has the string grid backing on it (easy rip type stuff).

The glue is horrible and will gum up your cables very quickly. Far prefer to use rubber carpet strips when at all possible.

It all depends on the Brand of Gaffer's Tape.
I always use ProGaff

Always comes off nice and clean.

isnt duct tape (not duck tape) a generic tape used for reapiring heating ducts and usualy water resistant with strong glue and shiny. that stuff is a nightmare.
gaff tape is normally matt so not to reflect light and is widely used in the industry due to being designed to tear and come away cleanly unlike duct which is designed to not comeaway.

Theirs a lot of post here about removal of residue. http://srforums.prosoundweb.com/index.p ... 69/0/16/0/

a nother tip is that you must twist the end of what you have Gaffert, Gaffa't, Duct, this why it will be easier to remove.
