Create fixture in Magic 3D easyview

Post by djmaq »

Hi there.
Yesterday I tried to creare a magic 3D easyview fixture. I failed! I want to create a Stagefloode. It means one case in wich are 4 lamps. Each lamp has a different colored colour filter. I've no idea how I have to create this fixture. Most times i got an error because there were two channels with the same name or I got an error which causes that no light came out of the case. Can somebody help me?

Thanx for your help but my fixture has only for channels. First channel dimms color red, second channel dimms color yellow, third channel dimms color green and fourth channel dimms color blue. Your fixture has five channels :(

Yes I know! My problem is that I can't put a color to a channel and dimm that channel/color. So your example was not so helpfull for me. I hoped somebody knows how to create a color channel which is dimmable.

it is dimmable, send 0 to the red channel no red, send 225, full red send any number in between and get that value of red,
Same for blue, green.
Some fixture have a master dimmer to dim all channels, some don't.

Mmhh. Why is it worki' on your machine and not on mine? Step by step what I've done: I open Scanlibary. I set "number of channels" on 4. I set "libary type" on other. Then there is the message box "This type of fixture does not allow Pan and Tilt channels. Do you confirm?" I clicked yes. "Type and chanel name" I set on color. Than I clicked "new". In "effect type" "color icon" is choosen. In "Icon" is "color" choosen. Then I choose the color for the channel, for example red. "First DMX level" is set on 0, "last DMX level" is set on 255. Than I click OK. For channel 2, 3 and 4 I do the same. Then I got an error warning:"two channels have the same name" but I can store the fixture. If I now use the fixture in easy view the channels are off and can't be opened. Is only one channel set and channel 2, 3 and 4 ave no settings the channels which has setings is opened everytime and I can't dimm it.
Is it me? Am I understanding you right? Or is it something other?
It must be possible to create such a fixture.

If I try to realise it by RGB I'm missing the fourth channel if I create a color channel for it I can't dimm it (same problem like discribed on the top of this post).
Although I found a RGBY fixture in the folder "_generic". The first two channels were working. The last two were not workin. That would be the perfect fixture I think.

Lol' might be a few years late but I would have created 4 by 1 Chanel device then put them close together.
