Double fade control explained

Post by GiovanniG »

Hi, the sequence control there is Speed and F: with 2 fields, on Wiki there is no explanantion about that, only one F: field, an that's easy to understand.

Which effect has this double fade control? Thanks

The two values on the F field control the speed of Fade Up and Fade Down. The ability to have different fade up and fade down times was added a few releases ago.

The Speed field tells Freestyler the amount of time to run the Sequence. I usually just set the Speed equal to the highest value of the two F values. If you set the speed less than the F values then fade up and fade down will not complete before the Sequence terminates.

Thanks, ok that's clear, but what is the differences between Fade Up and Fade Down? Fade down is when the program understands that the actual value is higher then the scene and start fade down?
For me it looks more a scene fade or global fade (which continues on the next scene..

When the sequence step begins execution Freestyler looks at the current value of the channel. If the current value is less than the target value then the FADE UP time controls the increase (ex. the light becomes brighter). If the current value is higher than the target value then the FADE down time controls the decrease (ex. the light becomes less bright). This also requires the channel setting (not used, snap, fade up, fade down, fade up/down) to be set.
