Can't find any Information about LED Spot

Post by somstef »

Hi @ all,

i'm total new to dmx and i just try to figure out how it works. So i my first shot seems to be very bad, i can't control one simple spot. My Hardware:

DMX to USB cable (FTDI)
DMX Decoder 12CH
Showtec Spot MCL 116-12-DMX 3 or 4 CH (i'm not sure, there are 4 wires)

I've tried many options with different Fixtures but nothing run well, the spot starts blinking, color changing, but i can't set a fixed color or dimming.... in some texture (when i push the slider fast back and forwards) the spot stops blinking and i can change the color (when i return the procedur). And there are just 2CH were the spot do anything (Ch 2 and CH4)

I'm not sure how can i figure out, what kind of channel and how to use it, i hope anybody can help me.

thanks and best

whats a dmx decoder? all you need is a USB to dmx device connected to your pc/laptop and a dmx cable to your light from that box, then the appropriate fixture file that matches your light added to FS
