Grouping Fixtures

Post by dbqtech »

I have 3 groups of lights that I'm trying to control independently.

Overhead Lights.
On Stage Lights.
Spotlights.

I would like to set up Cue functions that run independently of eachother. Like strobing or cycling the overhead lights while leaving the other 2 groups unaffected. So far, the only way I've figured out how to do it is programming all the lights into a cue for every combination.

For example. I have

Red Overhead Chase
Blue Stage
Spots off

Red Overhead On
Blue Stage
Spots On

Strobe Red Overhead.
Stage off
Spots On

What I'm trying to do is have cue buttons like:

Red Overhead On
Blue Overhead On
Green Overhead ON
Red Overhead Strobe
Red Overhead Chase

Red Stage On
Blue Stage On
Green Stage Om
Red Stage Strobe
Red Stage Chase

Spots On
Spots Off

And have all 3 of these groups run independently of each other.

Right now, If I select Red overhead the other 2 go off then Green Stage, the overheads go off.

Any tutorials or manual sections you can point me to would be a great help. I've gone through a bunch of times and can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks,
Adam

When building cues make a cue for each fixture group that does not include any of the other fixtures. We can then stack the cues any way you like so all things that you want to happen are done with the press of a button. This would be done using cuelists in the cue window. You can also accomplish what you are wanting using the submasters.
